#SysAdmins, let’s chat about what you love about your job! 🖥️💼
Here are some more questions to keep the conversation going:
– Are you constantly moving around or stuck at a desk all day?
– How many hours are you putting in for actual work?
– How often are you on-call for emergencies?
– Do you prefer Powershell, Python, or another scripting language?
– Are you satisfied with your salary?
Personally, I find the problem-solving aspect of being a sys admin to be the most rewarding. I enjoy the challenge of troubleshooting and finding solutions to technical issues. Plus, the diversity of tasks keeps things interesting! 🛠️

It’s going to be 100% different for everyone, but I’ll give my “averages” from my admin days:
Maybe at my desk 90%
From 4 to 60 a week. Some weeks go by with zero work, some weeks there is so much you can’t finish it.
I was on call once a month for a week.
In a windows environment powershell is probably the most useful.
I was not paid well at the time. Like 45k 10 years ago
Not much to be done that’s not at my computer

PowerShell is more useful for me because my RMM runs it out of the box
Not amazingly but well enough
