When you tried to pay, the website asked for a pre-authorization for the that amount. It probably at this point found out that it was a debit card and not a credit card, so it voided the transaction. The pending charge/pre-auth will simply fall off in a couple of business days. There’s nothing you need to do, and there’s nothing you can do except wait. Disputing with your bank won’t help you because your bank will simply tell you to wait.
This is assuming that you weren’t charged for a non-refundable booking fee.

Never use a debit card online its the same as paying cash. You have more protections using a credit card where you must be refunded if a service is not provided.
