Hey everyone! 🌟
I’m feeling a bit lost right now and I can’t help but wonder, am I just being too picky or is life just handing me a raw deal?
Here’s some context if you’re curious:
- I’m 21, navigating ADHD and some pretty heavy depression.
- I’ve had a couple of food service gigs, but let’s just say, my reputation isn’t the best. I’m often seen as slow and a bit scattered.
- I have a permit (yay!), but no license, and it’s quite the saga trying to get my life on the road – literally.
- People often imply I won’t be able to drive well, and honestly, I kinda feel the same way. 😞
- My creative outlets feel stagnant, despite wanting to dive into drawing and writing.
- Social situations make me anxious; even though I’m trying my best to be kind and helpful, I often feel misunderstood, and it can be draining.
- I’ve ghosted jobs that seemed like I couldn’t handle them, which only adds to my frustration.
- Oh, and the whole “not paying bills” thing? That’s a sore spot. I’m grateful for family support, but the weight of it can feel suffocating.
I want to understand what’s going on with me and find a path forward. Maybe it’s time to stop feeling sorry for myself and take some baby steps? But my mindset is all over the place, filled with thoughts like, “I can’t do this” and “I deserve better.” 🙄
So, here’s where I need your help:
- What steps can I take at home to figure things out or improve myself?
- Are there jobs out there that are friendly to those of us who feel a bit… untalented or uncharismatic?
I’d love to hear your thoughts, experiences, or tips on navigating this complicated landscape. I’m tired of feeling stuck, and I could really use some perspective! Thank you all for being here. Let’s chat! 💬
When you find out let me know…
Phlebotomy pays reasonably well with a low barrier of entry. You can do that to keep you busy while you’re figuring it out. Invest in therapy. Emphasis on the word invest, as you will see returns in more ways than one.
Hi, please focus on getting your medicine sorted first. You need to be taking what you’re prescribed, but probably also something for depression/anxiety. When your mind is organized it’ll be a lot easier to work.
Creative energy isn’t just art. You might be happy learning coding, or some sort of problem solving industry (like investigative accounting). Pathology, medical examiner, jobs that require you to figure things out.
Hell you might even like working for the IRS.
Medicine first, job path second. Come back when you’re able to think straighter and ask again. One step at a time
