Hey everyone, I could really use some advice. I recently decided to share some videos on Reddit about my awful former employer, Rosemont Market in Portland, Maine, and now I’m facing some backlash. 😟
- Some folks in the comments seem overly invested and have started throwing out threats, saying I could get sued and that I’ll struggle to find another job in the future. Yikes! 😳
- Just to clarify, I did report some health concerns to the local health inspector because I felt it was necessary.
- Interestingly, I drove by Rosemont on Monday and Tuesday, and I noticed they were actively cleaning up. Maybe my post had some impact? 🤷♀️
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? How did you handle the negativity? What advice do you have for someone dealing with passive-aggressive threats online while trying to stand up for what’s right? I’m keen to hear your stories or any tips that might help me navigate this. 💬
Thanks for reading, and let’s support each other in sharing our experiences!
Well, Rosemont Market in Portland does control all the jobs on earth so those folks might be on to something….. or not.
Sued? Maybe. Is your state two party for video? Also you probably want a screen name that has nothing to do with any email. Learned that the hard way.
Not getting a job is dumb.
Well, none of your content was false, so it seems like those are just open threats and an intimidation tactic on their part. On the other hand, maybe you should seek legal representation for a hostile working environment. Might be something to look into
Go all in. Nuclear option.
Film all of it and post.
Fuck em.
You haven’t made a single comment confirming that you reported them to the health department.
Why?
I’d call a lawyer, and get some advice.
I’d also start recording them and posting THAT online, too.
Maine is a one-party consent state, so they can’t sue you on those grounds. You may be able to report them to someone for hostile work environment.
I am not familiar anymore with how Maine unemployment works, but I know in some places you’re entitled to it if you leave a job due to hostility. May be worth looking into.
Used to live just outside Portland. Good luck fam. lol
Don’t listen to those Bootlickers… They would willingly march themselves off the cliff If they thought they would get any praise from an employer.
Block those people, you did the right thing. Employers want to get away with treating employees like trash, using them up and burning them out. I’ve lived and worked long enough to where I saw fellow employees die at work. Something like that opens your eyes real fast.
