🤔 #JobStruggles #SelfReflection
Hey everyone! 😊 So, I’ve been grappling with this tough question – am I just really bad at my job or am I being way too hard on myself? 🤷♂️ Let me break it down for you:
– I have this habit of avoiding unpleasant tasks until the last minute and then going into a shame spiral. 😬
– I’ve been struggling with prioritization and workload management in my recent jobs. 📉
– Currently, I’m falling behind on a major transition project at work and feeling like I can’t keep up. 😓
But here’s the thing – is it really me or is it the demands of late stage capitalism and understaffing? 🤯
I’d love to hear your thoughts! Do you think I need to step up my game or is the system just set up against me? 🤔 And if you have any tips or solutions on how to navigate this situation, please share! 🙌 Let’s help each other out!
Also left out the parts about the boss l heavily involved in a biz coaching which he dug into shortly before I joined and looks to me like an expensive boondoggle of generic biz Coaching with a slick veneere and a side of Scientology backing and tactics. I am not excited about executing projects relating to this or the trainings
If you aren’t enjoying certain tasks, think about the aspects of your job you do enjoy. Tailor your resume to those and look for jobs that will let you do the work you find engaging. Sure, there are certain parts of jobs that are always a slog, but if you like hate filing or something, look for a job that has more hierachy/structure so it’s not one of your responsibilities.
Same thing applies to your industry and type of companies you’re looking at. In both roles, you’ve been in small departments. Maybe you would enjoy working with a larger team? Less pressure on you as individual.
Sounds like you’re unhappy and it’s okay to leave, just do some self reflecting before you start searching again so you can find a role and company that fits your needs and career goals. You can only do this by having an idea of what that can look like in advance, and asking good interview questions to suss out what kind of environment you would be walking into.
