Hey everyone π, have you noticed a decrease in wages in the tech sector recently? π€ I’ve been seeing a trend of analyst to mid-tier jobs either disappearing or experiencing reductions in pay, with some positions being rolled into higher-level roles like engineer or senior positions.
It seems like many companies are cutting back after overhiring during the COVID era, leading to layoffs and cost-saving measures. As an Identity and Access Management analyst in the financial sector, I’ve seen this firsthand. Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
Here are some possible solutions to navigate these changes and possibly even benefit from them:
– Consider upskilling or obtaining additional certifications to remain competitive
– Network with professionals in the industry to stay informed about job opportunities
– Evaluate remote work options that might offer better compensation or growth potential
Let’s discuss and share insights on how to navigate these shifts in the tech job market! π¬π‘ #TechCareers #Adaptability #ProfessionalDevelopment
I wouldn’t say wages are going down, just that the biggest salary employers are not hiring and people are low balling themselves either because they fear the down turn or because they don’t have a choice since they got laid off
Not mine, bitch
More people applying than jobs available means that salaries will be pushed down
I always see some wild postings for remote IT stuff like 13/h for a bunch of experience needed. Thereβs some good opportunities out there, remote job posts always attract a crap load of applications.
