What amazes me is people will defend or fight for a system that doesn’t care about them. 🤔 It’s like we’ve all been conditioned to accept the flaws and injustices of work culture and capitalism without questioning it. But shouldn’t we strive for a better, more fair system?
Here’s what I think could be a possible solution:
– Education and awareness: Understanding the flaws in the current system is the first step towards change.
– Advocacy and activism: Speaking out and advocating for change can help bring attention to these issues.
– Supporting ethical companies: By choosing to support companies that prioritize their employees and social responsibility, we can help drive positive change.
Let’s start questioning the status quo and working towards a system that truly values and supports all individuals. 💪 #BeTheChange
They probably think they’ll be the CEO some day
To be honest its not always doom and gloom ( Only if your an European citizen, otherwise you got no chances at all).
In reality only 20-30% of all people are fucked, and the other ones are in a nice place.
When I was 16-24, I was pretty anti capitalist, but then the capitalism won when I start getting some success.
Also helped that I lived in oceania, on a eu salary for a time ( and it felt great to always have money)
P.s. if youre an american youre fucked , 0 chances to get out of poverty
They really love the taste of the boot in their mouth, don’t kink shame.
People are idiots.
There will always be a system in place. Always have been and always will be. It will change from time to time, but a system will always be there.
Those individuals may have realized the current system is the best they can do so will defend it. Or scared of sacrificing years, energy, resources, and livelihood for change.
A change big enough to disrupt the system will require everyone who wants the change to be willing to sacrifice what they currently have – and most people are not on board with that.
It’s similar to how people defend their favorite product or brand to the death for no reason. “Bro, you had three chargers explode and one of them burned down your house, and your brand new Macbook has a defect that’s gonna cost 700$ to repair..why do you keep defending Apple?” “Because they make such a quality product!” And no, this isn’t a hypothetical, it’s the true story of my dumbass friend and his obsession with the company that burned down his house! The point is, some people will defend their way of life, idea, belief, product, company, abusive gf/bf etc no matter what. Even if that thing literally burns their house down
It really is quite simple…they think they are going to beat they system.
And beating it doesn’t mean getting to the C-level staff, or even VP level…it means, to be blunt, doing just a bit better than everybody else. SOMEBODY is going to get promoted; somebody is going to get that senior role, and it may well be them. And, whatever level they are at, getting up one level is “proof” the system works.
I am convinced that there is almost a mathematical formula they have to figure out the bare minimum of people who succeed to keep enough people in check with the hope that they will be the one to suceed.
I’m interested in what your thoughts are for a better system? I don’t want to live under a dictator as communist countries eventually become. Socialism? Look at those countries, and they still have an elite status. At least with capitalism, there is a chance of earning some good coin.
Everyone who has what it takes to lead changing the system, also has what it takes to do well in the system.
Change is scary to everyone, we all want slow changes to test the water and see if its a good change or not, then we vote for the next candidate depending if they are for or against
It’s like the Patrick meme, everyone agrees on the points, rich people exploit, everyone’s not getting paid enough, the prices are running away from our salaries, the economy is in shambles because no one can afford to participate, people simply need to get paid a lot more.
But, NO, DON’T CHANGE ANYTHING!!
Like… what? At this point people as a whole don’t want things to improve.
The marketing campaign has been strong, making people believe that if they work hard enough one day they’ll be in that position too.
My Dad directly benefited from the Union’s collective bargaining against coal mines for years. To this day, he speaks ill of Unions as a whole, ignores that the only reason he’s retired right now is because of it, and complains about “welfare recipients”, while on Social Security and Medicaid, because he has *absolutely no savings*. Should I mention how volatile the coal market is, along with his number of layoffs, just in my life? It’s 5, he’s been laid off 5 *separate* times because of coal barons and their greed. Talk about ironic.
3 reasons spring to mind.
The first is that they are believers in a system like religious people and no matter the evidence refuse to believe or see the truth of their situation.
The second is they have not yet experienced the negatives of capitalism yet but will soon find out the hard way once they get a bad boss, get fired, sexually harassed etc etc…
The last one that comes to mind is that they are CEOs or top management and NEED to perpetuate the lies so their labor force stays docile and uneducated and not unionized.
A couple of things.
1. Many in the working class are drinking the “job creator” Kool Aid even though most job creation comes from small business, not corporations that buy our government. They are buying the “don’t envy us, work hard and become one of us” bullshit that almost never works out.
2. Many of the politicians pushing for corporate hegemony and shitting on workers are getting many working class folks to vote against their economic self-interest by pushing the culture wars. “Yes, they are screwing my wallet, but hey, they are using traditional pronouns!”
