#JobSeekerStruggles #RejectionHurts #JobSearchWoes
Hey there,
So I just want to know, is this a common experience for anyone else out there in the job hunting world? I mean, seriously – applying for a job only to be rejected in a matter of hours? 🤯 It’s frustrating, to say the least. But hey, the job market can be tough sometimes, right?
Here are a few things to consider:
– Maybe the company had already received a high number of applications and had to make quick decisions
– The job posting could have been up for a while, even if you applied shortly after it was posted
– Your resume might not have been tailored specifically to what the employer was looking for
– It’s possible that they are looking for a very specific skill set that you may not have fully showcased
But don’t lose hope! Here are some possible solutions that might help in your job search:
– Take some time to personalize your resume and cover letter for each job application
– Network with professionals in your industry to uncover hidden job opportunities
– Consider reaching out to the hiring manager directly to express your interest and qualifications for the role
Remember, rejection is just a part of the process. Keep pushing forward and eventually, you’ll land that perfect job. Stay positive and keep grinding! 💪🏼🌟
Anyone else have any tips or experiences to share? I’d love to hear from you!
Don’t get hung up on the language of the rejection. It’s meant to be generic and cold. Just keep marching forward.
Tone it down. You are unemployed and nobody owes you a job. Think you should do a bit of looking in the mirror and knowing your place
I applied for a job once, and got rejected as soon as I hit SUBMIT. Must have been 2 seconds. I was furious. All that for nothing.
They may say that, but what they may actually doing is staffing the position with candidates from a local employment agency, so that they can be paid 10-20% less than the internal posting. It’s easy to go through all sorts of hypothetical situations to bring logic to a rejection or non-communication about a role – that just leads us to dig a deeper mental hole to wallow in. It’s best avoided; just on to the next.
Yeah?
So… uh.
Yeah!
Corporate speak for we’re hiring the CEO’s friend or relative if it was that quick.
I tried to apply for a job on LinkedIn that was just posted, had 0 applications, and it was already closed.
These aren’t real jobs.
It’s a good sign that you’re in an oversaturated field that is being replaced by AI. Seems like you could use some work on the software skills too.
How long is it supposed to take? Is 2 hours not enough?
Ive had a somewhat similar situation happen to me. I applied to a SWE gig in the UK, im an EU citizen but i have a settled status here. I sent my CV to the admissions team to which they replied 10mins later asking me to provide some additional details. I supplied them and within 5mins got rejected…
I got rejected within 20mins of the initial application and hitting submit. The absolute efficiency within these companies must be insane since it was a Grad job and i have previous experience.
