HR #Onboarding #OrganizationalChange
Hey HR folks, feeling like I’m dropping the ball 🤦♀️ Recently transitioned to a new organization in a bigger role and I’m struggling to keep up with the pace and expectations. Anyone else been through this? How did you cope? Here are a few tips I’ve gathered along the way:
- Communicate: Don’t be afraid to ask for help or clarification on expectations. Communication is key!
- Prioritize: Focus on the most important tasks first and don’t get bogged down by trying to do everything at once.
- Network: Build relationships with colleagues who can help guide you through the transition.
- Self-care: Don’t forget to take care of yourself during this stressful time. Make sure to take breaks and recharge.
What other strategies have worked for you in similar situations? Let’s support each other 💪 #HRCommunity #SupportSystem
How long have you been there? It’ll take a least 6 months to really get your bearings- be kind to yourself and take it one day at a time.
Give yourself some grace, you’ll get the hang of it as you learn and progress 😊
this is Normal – it wouldn’t be natural if you adjusted right away, there’s always a learning curve and in the end change is a good thing.
Ttttaaakkkeee iiiitttt sssslllloooowww… listen more, act less, don’t try to show your capability and talent too quickly..
1) know the people you are dealing with and their personalities. Without this you will keep having friction and resistance
2) make sure to understand the unique ways of working.. who likes to follow rules, who likes to not follow rules and what lengths will they go to to get their way..
3) watch and learn from your bosses or people who have been there longer.. see how they act and how much they reveal / share.. you cant be way too different!! Sorry.
4) dont try to introduce new ways or your ways of doing things.. do things as per the set process or guidelines for atleast 1 year and then take a call..
Take it slow.. its a new job.. you are on the ground floor and need to rock climb your way to the top.. (no steps no elevator and also no safety gear) and you dont know rock climbing so take it slow.. one step at a time, preserve your energy and keep progressing!
Good luck
