Hey folks! 👋
Do you often receive resumes in your mail inbox? 📧 Ever find yourself in a situation where you need to transfer files over to an ATS or Excel file to keep track of applicants? 📂
Is this a common issue in the recruiting space? 🤔
Possible solution:
– Consider setting up filters in your email to automatically direct resumes to a specific folder for easy access
– Utilize ATS systems that offer integrations with email platforms to streamline the process
– Create a standardized template in Excel to quickly input candidate information

Standard practice is having an ATS that integrates to job boards to collect applications
You could see if there is an ATS with Outlook integration, but I’m not aware of any.
If you really wanted to pursue this, you would likely have to hire a dev to perform the integration. Microsoft does have an API where you can fetch messages and attachments. But you would likely want a separate email address where resumes are sent to.
You would then need to integrate with an ATS via a REST API to upload the resume.
Do they have an ATS? But they are receiving resumes via email and then manually inputting them into their ATS?
If yes, the best thing to do is to direct applicants to apply to the ATS instead. Often people will use quickly apply on LinkedIn or Indeed, so the resumes of applicants get emailed to them (and are also then stored on the job board). However, it’s better instead to post the job on LinkedIn or Indeed or wherever, but instead of having the applicant apply on the job board, choose the option to link the application to the job posting on your career page.
Hope that makes sense.
We never accept resumes via email. Or, if someone does send one via email, all our hiring managers know to tell them that they need to apply online through our job portal. We can’t accept a resume without an application basically. Everything goes through our ATS. Every now and then we may create a candidate in the ATS using a resume but it’s not the correct method because then the applicant isn’t answering legal questions asked of all candidates.
