Hey fellow job seekers! ๐ Have you been using the “Easy Apply” feature on LinkedIn to apply for jobs? ๐ค Let’s discuss why this might not be the best approach:
– Easy Apply is open to bots and unqualified applicants, leading to a flood of applications that may not be a good fit for the job
– Many unknown companies with questionable legitimacy are posting job listings on this platform
Instead of taking the easy route, try this alternative approach:
– Visit the company’s official website to apply directly
– Validate the legitimacy of the company before submitting your application
– Use your real resume and cover letter to stand out from the crowd
I followed this strategy and landed 1 interview! ๐ By taking the time to apply thoughtfully and strategically, you may increase your chances of standing out to potential employers. Let’s share our experiences and tips for a more successful job search journey! ๐ผ #JobSearchTips #CareerAdvice
Stop using LinkedIn to look for jobs, period. For one thing, employers use it as a cheat to find out your gender, ethnicity, and age. Additionally, the listed jobs are usually fake.
I’ve had more luck on Indeed for call-backs.
I wish I could, but I do medical reception and smaller physician run clinics only seem to use LinkedIn and indeed anymore. They’ve told me they get all kinds of wildly unqualified apps constantly though, like a pediatric clinic getting apps that range from kids still in high school up to former prosecutors
Usually, if I find a job I’m interested in on LinkedIn, but the only option to apply is through EasyApply, I’ll go see if I can find a website and the job and apply there. If not, sometimes I just settle for EasyApply- just in case.
I use it when I’m feeling lazy because, frankly, the results appear to be the same either way.
Or just stop using LinkedIn entirely. Use Google.
site:jobs.lever.co | site:boards.greenhouse.io <your job title>
You can also get really crafty with the modifiers. For example I use the following to find Product Manager and Product Owner roles from Associate to Senior.
site:jobs.lever.co | site:boards.greenhouse.io (associate product OR product OR senior product) AND (manager OR owner)
Iโve never seen the need to use LinkedIn. Iโll never forget when I first heard this.
โI tracked him down to Brooklyn, heโs on LinkedIn. He may as well be deadโ

Never even considered it for jobs, maybe Iโm wrong and not up to date, but that would be my very last resort.
Some companies will only use LinkedIn, others will only use Indeed, or their own website for postings. LinkedIn is fine, just use multiple sources when applying/looking for jobs!
Meh, I’ve had luck with both. Linkdin and direct apply. I can’t think of ‘easy apply’ producing any results. But I’ve also wasted ALOT of time filling out a hundred different applications on company sites. I can’t wait for a better (AI drive?) upload resume feature. My resume is in pdf fore, and on linkdin. Why not hit “easy apply” and sent it off.
Actually there are some legit companies using easy apply. **To your point** its best to go to the companies website to apply for a role if possible.
Always use the website unless they donโt list anything there. A lot of smaller companies use Glassdoor or LinkedIn as their primary sourcing platform.
Companies that use several platforms, including their site, often have inconsistencies in the listings, and only one is primary for the talent team. You wonโt know which one. If they have a lot of LinkedIn listings, they pay for these platforms, so they *do* pay attention to them.
I got an interview with Accenture, one of the best consulting firms on the planet because of Easy apply. That’s just one top company from Easy apply. To dismiss Easy apply when there are literally millions who use it every year is plain silly.
Id agree with for about 99% of easy apply. However, I’m on the 3rd round of interviews for a company I applied through easy apply. Had no expectation that I’d hear from this company but I have on more final…fingers crossed I get it!
