I hate my job and do it for my family.
I love my job and have no problem continuing for a long time
Yeah, I love what I do and enjoy my work a lot. I’ve probably wanted to work in finance since I was like 5 thanks to my dad.
Love my job! I managed restaurants and sold cars, working in corp finance is by far the best job. The work is stimulating, fairly easy, pays well, and I can work from home. There’s room for growth and plenty of exit opportunities too.
This is the life.
I used to love it. Now I mostly just don’t hate it, but I’m ready to retire. Also sticking it out a bit longer for my family. I’ve got 23 more months, then I’ll be two-bad-days-in-a-row from walking out the door.
My job is equivalent to being tortured by satan in the netherworld but I have mouths to feed.
Used to, 6 years in and year by year gets more tedious
i get to solve some interesting problems, but man does it drive me crazy sometimes.
Do you work if you do not get paid?
Hell No.
Passionate? Ehh idk. But is it legitimately enjoyable to solve problems? Yes.
I own an RIA firm and started my career in investment banking. I actually enjoyed some aspects of IBD, but the lifestyle blows big time. and enjoy my current job, but I’d be done in a heartbeat if I could. I’ve always wanted to maximize income, flexibility and enjoyment. I couldn’t do something I hated long term, but I’m willing to make trade offs to live the standard of life I do. It’s all a personal choice.
Edited for clarity
Independent advisor and I love what I do.
I live my job when I do the actual job part. I’m a salaried (plus incentive pay) financial advisor. I hate calling the leads my company gives me, but when I actually get a client across from me and can develop a financial plan and convince them why they need me, it’s awesome. But the awesome stuff is like 10-15% of my job.
Perks
Perks? You guys are getting perks?
I like my job.
It’s funny, I dreaded the end of studies and the start of a life filled with just work, because my part-time jobs were so boring. But working has been so much better than studying, and it’s just been getting better with change of roles.
I’m a few days in so I’ll come back to this in a years time😅🤣
O&G credit analyst here. Love it, it’s the best. Always learning new stuff, fairly ok hours (around 50/60 per week), pays well and funds a nice lifestyle, I genuinely find the sector extremely interesting. Some days are better than others but it’s a nice time.
Absolutely hate it. Just try to save enough money to be financially independent one day
I’m pretty sure my company is causing some societal woes. And in my role I’m helping support that…
I’m doing it for the dollars and perceived prestige.
It sucks most of the time. I mostly deal with distressed loans and it’s never a fun time. Always challenging and annoying af situations. The financial security is great though.
I don’t like working a 9-5 in general, I just do it to retire ASAP and focus on my own projects.
I’m in compliance and I’m passionate about it. They’re always something to learn to keep me on my toes, there is no bottom. 10 years in RIA compliance and I still love it.
