Can I Submit My 30-Day Notice During FMLA Leave for a New Job Opportunity?
## Situation Overview
I am currently on medical leave following a procedure that limits my lifting abilities until 4/29. I have a new job starting on 6/10 at a location far away, causing me to consider submitting a 30-day notice earlier than my return date to meet job requirements at my current facility.
### Relevant Details
– I have been looking for a new job for months and my current manager is aware.
– The new job is located halfway across the country.
– Pay and benefits are contingent on providing a 30-day notice at my current facility.
– Can the days while on medical leave count towards my intended notice period?
If you have any further questions, feel free to ask for more clarification. Thank you!

You should wait. It would be risky to do otherwise.
Once you put in notice while on FMLA, all FMLA protection ends. You cannot use FMLA to run out the clock unless your employer allows you to.
