🤔 Do record profits justify a hiring freeze and cuts in raises?
I’ve been with the same company for almost a decade and the recent decisions in terms of compensation and promotions have left me feeling undervalued and overworked. Here are some thoughts and possible solutions:
– Despite beating Wall Street expectations, bonuses and raises have been cut.
– The CEO and top executives are making millions while regular employees are struggling.
– A hiring freeze and promotion delays are causing existing employees to take on extra work.
Possible solutions:
– Push for transparent communication about the company’s financial health and decisions affecting employees.
– Advocate for fair compensation based on both company performance and market standards.
– Suggest implementing a performance-based promotion system to incentivize employees and prevent burnout.
What are your thoughts on this issue? How does your company handle compensation and promotions during record profit years? Let’s discuss and share ideas for a fairer workplace! #FairPay #EmployeeEngagement
So anti work is mad that they aren’t giving MORE folks work- What happened to anti work lol?
You get what you pay for. Slow down and spend some more time job searching. Good luck. You got this.
The pie is only so big and when the one who cut the pie is a greedy pig, it’s no wonder the rest only get crumbs
Executive bonuses are unpaid wages.
Do not conflate can’t and won’t. They won’t hire people to backfill positions because they don’t have to. You are doing the work that allows them to using that strategy to increase profits by cutting costs instead of increasing revenues. The only viable strategies workers have is to find other employment for more pay, or unionize and advocate for higher pay that way. Either way, by staying there and continuing to donthe job, you are contributing to the problem. Be the solution, demand more, find better.
It’s just a cycle because they want to keep pay and other benefits low, so companies are always doing massive layoff’s so they can hire new people for lower pay. The fact that you’ve lasted that long in a company means that they have kept your pay and benefits low enough that they don’t need to cut you yet to hire someone for lower pay.
