Hey everyone! So, just a couple of months back, I found myself among those laid off from my company due to significant downsizing. At first, I felt pretty lost—especially since I had only been there for four months after switching gears from mechanical to software engineering. But then something amazing happened: I took that unexpected time off and turned it into an exciting new venture!
With a vision in mind, I dove into the world of artificial intelligence and started building a product. I was inspired by all the cool AI tools out there—like DALL-E and Stable Diffusion—and decided to create an AI tool aimed at generating YouTube thumbnails.
Here’s a quick rundown of what’s happened so far:
2 Months Ago:
I started by running a $50 Google Ad campaign to test the waters, which revealed a 2% Click-Through Rate (CTR). This was a positive sign that there might be interest in my idea!
1.5 Months Ago:
I worked on building a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and added features like payment processing, image storage, and user logins. However, I soon realized users were struggling with their prompts—often throwing in their video links directly.
Why was this happening?
– 🧠 Lack of clarity on how to use the tool
– 🎯 Users not knowing the right prompts to enter for optimal results
To tackle these pain points, I decided to integrate a ChatGPT feature to help users craft better prompts, and it worked wonders!
1 Month Ago:
I launched the website and started sharing it on various platforms. Fast forward to now, and I’m proud to say my user base has grown to 200 through organic marketing efforts!
Current Goals:
– 🔍 Improve website SEO and stability
– 🛠️ Work on advanced features using YouTube videos as training data
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is the importance of embracing negative feedback. Sure, it can sting! But that critique is gold when it comes to understanding what users really need.
Curious about your experiences! Have you ever faced challenges while developing a product? What strategies helped you overcome them? Let’s share tips and support each other! 🚀

Good luck friend
URL of your site?
lol you should really check your links
Hope you get success. Good Luck.
Awesome
I’m confused. The website you linked has nothing to do with thumbnail generation?
Am I the only one who thinks this was AI generated?
It even has the “to sum up” trademark at the end.

Every “AI” startup nowadays is just a few API’s and a prompt. It will get you nowhere, as a real business building. If you want a stable growing business with a future, you gonna need more than a smart prompt i.e. a GPT wrapper.
This sounds great! Good luck and I look forward to seeing what else you have in store!
