Excited to share – Found a tech job paying 60k after submitting 600+ applications and dealing with ghosting. Need advice on whether to relocate for free. Should I keep applying for a 100k+ offer? Background: CS Bachelor’s, IT Master’s, AWS and Comptia certs, 4 years experience. Tips on getting job offers as an international student in the USA? #JobSearch #TechJob #CareerAdvice #InternationalStudent #ApplicationStrategies
Congratulations on the job offer! Keep networking actively, continuous learning with more certifications could also increase your chances for better offers in the future, keep pushing and good luck.
Congrats!!!
Congratulations. I am also an international student. I have been applying since June last year but haven’t found anything yet. Did you use any consulting agency or something to get the current job?
> I’m an international student
That’s absolutely why bro. Visas are hella annoying to sponsor. But congrats !
Take it if you must and keep right on interviewing, 60k is serious lowballing and a move on top of that. I am not sure why these companies think its a good idea to lowball candidates like this. The likely hood of keeping you more than a few months is slim to none.
>I don’t wanna bother with that fancy map thingy a lot of guys make to show their progress, but to anyone who’s curious
Just adding to the noise, because I don’t fancy doing one either
