IQuitMyJobToday #NewBeginnings #ShittyBosses
Introduction: My Bold Move
Ever felt pushed to the point where you just couldn’t take it anymore? That’s exactly how I felt today. I quit my job. Yes, you read that right. But let me break it down for you. 😊
Why I Decided To Leave
Working my ass off, dealing with an unreasonable boss, and facing constant disrespect – it all became too much. Today, when my boss once again pushed me to meet an impossible goal, I knew I had reached my limit.
How I Quit My Job
Here’s how it went down:
- Boss: Angry and rude, pushing me to work faster.
- Me: Calm, but resolute. Took off my work shirt, handed it and my key over, and said, "I’m not doing this."
- Boss again: Shocked and asked, "You’re really just gonna walk out?"
- Me again: A simple "Yep," and I walked out.
It was liberating! 😎
Feelings After Quitting
I immediately felt like I had just gotten out of jail. To be honest, I have been to jail, and walking out of that toxic work environment felt just as freeing.
New Job On The Horizon
Luckily, I have another job lined up. It starts on the 20th, giving me a bit of an unpaid vacation. I’m super excited about this new opportunity and can’t wait to start! 🚀
Concerns About Rent
Of course, there’s a tinge of nervousness about paying rent next month due to these two weeks without pay. But honestly, it’s worth it to get away from that toxic environment.
Tips For Anyone Considering Quitting
- Secure another job first: This will ease financial worries.
- Know your limit: Understand what you can tolerate and recognize when enough is enough.
- Trust your gut: If the job is causing more harm than good, it’s time to move on.
Final Thoughts 👋🏼
Sometimes, you just have to take that bold step. Life is too short to work in a toxic environment with shitty bosses. Here’s to new beginnings and healthier work experiences! 🎉
Feel free to share your own “I Quit” stories in the comments. Let’s support each other through these tough but necessary transitions. 💪
Closing Note
Thank you for reading my story. Remember, taking care of your mental health is paramount. Cheers to all of us seeking better and brighter futures! 🌟
CONGRATS YOU ARE FREEEEE
No need to be courteous if they’re not willing to reciprocate. Ass kissing is not needed from anyone but professionalism and basic respect is still needed and if they’re lacking on their part. Bounce. Do not help them, they wouldn’t help you. Would they have notified you 2 weeks in advance if you were going to be terminated?
Drive Uber in the mean time
Maybe your new job will let you start early?
Man that felt so good just to READ. Happy for you!
Good for you. Fuck her, she doesn’t deserve to have good workers.
Congratulations on the new job. Currently working at a job I hate and the day I quit this job and tell everyone to fuck off will be glorious.
You shouldn’t stay to be treated like crap, and good on you for putting in a notice and getting a job before you quit.
Uber
Yay! So happy you got out of there. And smart to get a new job before quitting, you don’t have to go through the process of finding new employment and worry about whether you can get your bills paid this month or not 😅
I had a boss tell me to leave when I gave my two weeks notice. Then she told other jobs calling for references that I walked out.
Good luck with your new job! You deserve better!
I absolutely loved the two times of walking out in response to a manager not treating their employees like people. They’re always like “wha? You’re horrible”
Yes I actually did the very same thing. I have worked for 24 yrs for a company and I’m the Go To Person For Everything. When it comes time to train new employees, I have to do it Plus My Job too and Never get compensation for it. Because technically it is the Management that is supposed to Provide all the training new employees need before starting. I have gone above and beyond for this company and I have put it for 3 jobs that I’m very qualified for but they instead move a 2 yr employee up instead of me at 24 yrs seniority. This has happened 3 times and their excuses are “We just can’t lose your experience on the floor”. Well Ya Know What I turned in my 2 weeks notice and planned on working to finish out. I already have another job, but my Hr department started Nit Picking on Days they said I didn’t call in. I never ever not called in. In 24 years if I was gonna be absent. She couldn’t back it up with a Date and she wanted to write me up! Guess what! I didn’t sign it either. I quit! Felt so Damn Good Yall !!!
Call the new job tell them your 2 weeks notic wasn’t accepted and inquire if you can start immediately
YAY!!!! big win! so proud of you stranger :,)
Take the time off if you can afford it. Two weeks to simply relax and get caught up on chores would be heavenly!
Couple of us who worked on a tugboat would go to a temp service outfit on our days-off and get day jobs. Minimum wage, but helped keep the rent paid snd bellies full.
Door dash
Ask if you can start early! Tell them you got laid off! Or look up temp jobs that pay same day or same week. It’ll get you by!
They probably wouldn’t give you two weeks to find another job if you were fired. Not without a contract anyway. Enjoy the break before the next job starts. 🙂
This story made my day anyone who has shitty bosses should make a stand
One of the greatest feelings for sure
I kinda chuckled at this pretending my boss wrote this. She just put in her two weeks.
Just call your new place and say you put your two weeks in but they decided to just end things that day. They’ll likely be pumped to have you start next day. Or worst case this coming Monday.
Wishing you the best of luck! I left a job I actually enjoyed for a few years that simply was not providing me the career growth I was looking for. I put in my notice and did the thing proper to go and try 911 dispatching. Unfortunately, after a couple of months, it became evident I actually have enough hearing loss that I wasn’t progressing in training, and they let me go. So, congrats on quitting and having another job lined up, hoping to be in the same situation soon since I also don’t have a job currently.
I disagree with giving 2 weeks notice to certain employers. How many give their employees 2 weeks notice ?
I sincerely wish you the best. 🤗
I did this as a teenager. I worked fast food and was asking the Manager fir help during a rush and she wasn’t helping. I said f this, ripped my shirt off Hulk Hogan style and walked out.
I’ve done the same exact thing once! It feels amazing to leave a toxic place behind. Best wishes in your new job!!
I had a job treat me poorly. When i quit they asked if i wasn’t gonna give a 2 week notice. I said, “in the next 2 weeks you are gonna notice I’m not here”. Best feeling ever
I wouldn’t have even said yes that I’m walking out. After handing this egotistical disgusting woman my work shirt, followed by the question, I would have actually just said, “watch what I’m doing, and wait for me to show back up tomorrow. That’s your answer.”
Put junk from your closet on eBay and Poshmark.
Proud of you
If it was me I would just leave, If they can fire you without a 2 weeks notice you can leave without a 2 weeks notice 🤷
Top Ramen freedom
i think people whine way too much about” toxic workplaces” being anything other than kindergarten playtime, but i don’t understand bosses who are straight up antagonistic to their employees. the only thing worse than a “bad” employee is being short people. driving people away makes the boss’s life way worse, why do it?
Does your company pay you out your PTO when you quit? You should at least get a final check.
And congrats! 🙂 Such a great feeling to quit a toxic job.
Congrats! I can honestly say I know the feeling. My last day was Friday. Took vacation and I’m here in Canada for a week then start my new job new career, orientation on Monday.
There are day labor jobs and the like you could get to drum up some cash if needed.
But more important…NICE JOB!! Quitting a crappy job is one of life’s great pleasures.
First off, congratulations on finding another job. I hope that new job is better. Better pay. Easy work. Stress free environment. Nice and respectful co-workers and managers. I really mean it.
You really did not have to put in a two weeks notice. Your former employer was being rude and disrespectful to you because you were leaving. I don’t blame you for walking out. Once you got your offer letter and accepted it and have a start date for your new job, I would have went in to your old job to hand in everything. Take the next few days off before start your new job.
That was me at Golden corral boss didn’t like my style was backed up no one helped me he said if I come back again you’re fired so I walked to another manager and said I quit and the other work was pissed that I quit but I didn’t care cuz I was in highschool
Take up Uber eats or whatever delivery service you can for the next couple weeks. I think you can get approved almost right away
Good for you sticking it to the (wo)man. You’re free now. Use your time off before the new job productively 🙂 congrats on the new position, too!
Love this OP, it’s 2 weeks from the rest of your working life.
Don’t sweat it 😂
