Can you believe it? They took back my employee review and tore me apart out of nowhere! 🤯 Has anyone else experienced something like this before at work? Here are some thoughts:
– Have you ever had a similar experience with a sudden change in performance feedback?
– What are some strategies for handling unexpected criticism from supervisors?
– Any advice on navigating a personal improvement plan at work?
Personally, I think it’s important to document all positive feedback and performance discussions in writing, to have a record in case situations like this arise. It might also be helpful to have a candid conversation with your supervisors about their sudden change in perspective. Stay strong and know that you have options. 🌟 #StayPositive #CareerGrowth
They’re trying to get rid of you. If you find a new job, just stop showing up. No notice. Fuck them.
Get your half bonus and don’t come back.
Sorry people that review is an official company document which was carried out under the correct procedure and mutually agreed and signed. The original document stands. You may not alter it without my consent and I do not give consent. Your actions today amount to unjustified bullying and harassment. I do not accept your newly invented pip plan with no proof of any wrong doing to back up its implementation.
Feels like a red flag that they’re running out of money but want to string good workers along for another 6 months. Get out and get out fast!
You suddenly “aren’t eligible for a bonus” because they are probably too broke to give you one.
Interesting how you need to be on a pip for fucking up but the people who can’t do reviews right arent huh?
Someone above your boss wants you gone and you’re going to get got. Leave now and save the time and effort.
Post this on glass door when you leave
Funny how they are penalizing you for their mistake.
It is all a ruse. They are greedy fucks gaming you.
Hopefully you have some documentation of the review and bonus. Definitely line up that next job, dump them. I would chat with the DOL and see what they have to say about the stunts they are pulling right now.
Get a copy of that original review. If they try to fire you for performance and then subsequently contest unemployment, show your state’s UI that and make those fuckers bleed
This sounds like a place that tells everyone to rate themselves on a scale of 1-5 but has a rule that it’s impossible for anyone to be a 5.
The higher ups realized OP might start having high self esteem when praised for his good work and while wages slaves must produce good work, they should not receive praise or have self esteem.
i would have called them cheap fucks to their face. “if you want to pay me peanuts fine i’ll look elseware. the gaslighting is not needed”
Sounds like the bosses son needs a job, your job.
Why?
I wonder how many other people were put on PIPs that originally got good reviews.
Nice of them to give you a six month head start on a job search.
Managers praise you and burn you out all year until evaluation month rolls around. Then they magically find very serious shortcomings in your performance.
Six month PIP???
A pip should never last that long, and it being that long really just highlights that they have an ulterior motive for this
I was a manager for a company. My director put everybody into a matrix. He wanted to “identity” people to put on a PIP. This place had us working unpaid many weekends and crazy hours. I felt so disgusted with the conversation. Luckily none of my employees were put on a PIP. But one was close. Instead of being used to fix problem employees, he wanted to use it to get more out of all employees
This is why you ALWAYS get a copy of any paperwork regarding your review, especially signed paperwork. If your state allows it, ALWAYS bring your phone to meetings and record.
I was in a similar situation where I was meeting with my manager every month for a 1-on-1. Always left it with, “Keep up the good work.” No negative issues. Always praised for my work and ethic. Appreciated for helping to lead the team through a difficult period. Review time came and he tried to give a poor rating and I called him out on his bullshit. Went to management one and two levels higher and presented my case with recordings. Were they thrilled? Not particularly (but management is never thrilled about anything). Did they respond? You bet. Not only did dickhead get a peepee spanking, he was moved out of my area. About six months later he was let go for basically being a skeevy mf.
And as a result of all this, I found out I’d been undercompensated for quite some time, so not only did my shitty review get overruled, but I also got a sizable boost in pay to bring me up to where I should have been.
So, protect yourself and look after yourself and take no shit off of management.
This is nothing to do with you it’s about the bonus. Either they can’t afford it altogether or they would rather give their C-Suite a bonus.
This strikes a chord with me.
I started an HR job last September, initially as one role, but then about two months in I was asked to help with another role, as they were short staffed due to one known leave of absence and one unexpected one at the same time.
I eagerly took on the extra work because frankly the new role was in my own best interest anyway. And when they asked if I wanted to get permanently reassigned to the new role, I said yes.
But then I was not properly trained (“This isn’t how we normally do training” and “Here are 1,000 resources, let me know if you have any questions”) and now I am on a PIP despite never once balking at one single task that’s ever been given me.
I despise being eaten alive in the workforce every day. I need to finally write that national bestseller book and be done with it.
6 month PIP? That’s plenty of time to set some fuckups in motion!
