#CaliforniaGDP #AfricanGDP #EconomicDisparities
Did you know that California’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is higher than the combined GDP of all the countries in Africa? 🤯 That’s crazy to think about, right? 🌍
To put it into perspective, California’s economy is so massive that it rivals some of the largest economies in the world. 💰 It’s like the powerhouse of the US, with its diverse industries and innovation driving its economic growth. 🚀
On the other hand, many countries in Africa struggle with various economic challenges, such as poverty, lack of infrastructure, and political instability, which have a significant impact on their GDP. This vast difference in economic output highlights the disparities between regions and the need for global economic development. 🌐
It’s important to keep in mind that GDP is just one measure of economic strength, and it doesn’t capture the full breadth of a country’s economic well-being. However, it does shed light on the stark contrasts between different regions and the importance of fostering economic growth and development. 💪
So, next time you hear about California’s booming economy, take a moment to think about the economic disparities that exist in the world and the efforts needed to bridge the gap. #GlobalEconomy #EconomicDevelopment #InequalityAwareness 🌍📈
If California were a country it would have the 5th largest economy in the world
You will be even more surprised when Earth have more GDP than majority of the planets in the universe.

>Accordingly, GDP is defined by the following formula:
GDP = Consumption + Investment + Government Spending + Net Exports
or more succinctly as
GDP = C + I + G + NX
where consumption (C) represents private-consumption expenditures by households and nonprofit organizations, investment (I) refers to business expenditures by businesses and home purchases by households, government spending (G) denotes expenditures on goods and services by the government, and net exports (NX) represents a nation’s exports minus its imports.
Africans gotta work harder!
Duh.
California has almost the same gdp as France and Cali does it with MILLIONS of less people
Why doesn’t California just buy Africa, are they stupid
And higher than Canada as well
And red states suck up those fed taxes. Fucking welfare queens.
California has a big list of impressive statistics. They are the largest cannabis market in the world (https://www.statista.com/statistics/1074990/us-california-cannabis-recreational-sales-value-forecast/) and they produce 40% of fresh vegetables consumed in the USA (https://farmtogether.com/learn/blog/california-farmland-the-largest-food-producer-in-the-us).
There is a lot more they lead the world in, but those quickly come to mind.
Edit: Ok, a few more
Tallest granite monolith in the world, El Capitan in Yosemite National Park (https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/78497-tallest-granite-monolith)
Also in Yosemite, Yosemite Falls is the tallest waterfall in the US (https://www.myyosemitepark.com/things-to-do/natural-wonders/yosemite-falls/)
Worlds largest pistachio producer (https://apps1.cdfa.ca.gov/FertilizerResearch/docs/Pistachio_Production_CA.pdf)
…and Joey Chestnut of San Jose, the worlds fastest competitive eater…and not just hot dogs (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Chestnut)
Now this is a real TIL
Also has higher gdp and population than Canada
I think Silicon Valley has a liiiitttle bit to do with that.
Yeah, and if Africa were able to solely profit off all the goods and resources there, it’d be #1 in the world
And yet to everyone who doesn’t live here, we’re all homeless in downtown SF
As you can see on [this map](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/5/5f/California_Counties_by_Median_Household_Income.png/525px-California_Counties_by_Median_Household_Income.png), most of the wealth is concentrated in the Bay Area and surrounding areas. (Wealthier areas in blue, poorer areas in red.) There’s big swaths of northern and southern California that are not wealthy at all. That’s why I always found it kind of laughable that some people want northern California to become its own state. It makes sense culturally, but economically it’s a complete non-starter.
But “alternative facts” keep telling me that my state is, in fact, bankrupt, perpetually on fire, and overrun by marauding death squads of illegal immigrants, homeless, and/or antifas/blm/vegans etc.
It’s hard not trusting my … senses … and reality, but if Fox News says it, it must be true.
New York has a higher GDP than all of Russia
Don’t forget California can make it to the top 10th strongest economy in the world if it were a country
All the mines and minerals in Africa are not making profit for Africa so yea this stat should be correct.
But does it have someone blessing the rain down? I. Think. Not.
And these mfers still mad at mr beast for bringing them clean drinking water smfh
On paper maybe? Im sure having their natural resources looted by companies that only ever make profits in foreign tax havens while paying the locals pennies doesnt help that.
This is a real TIL
Thank you so much
And more songs about it by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
That is absolutely mind blowing. ~40 million people producing more economic output than 1.2 billion.
Wonder what we could do if we setup more minds across the World to contribute to science/tech at full capacity. Including the US too.
