#fitnesscommunity #gymculture #healthyhabits
Hey there fitness fanatics! Ever wonder if gymbros have superhuman pooping abilities? Let’s dive into this “crappy” topic and find out if hitting the gym leads to more time spent in the bathroom.
The connection between gym time and poop time
You might have noticed that after a killer workout session, you feel the urge to hit the restroom. Well, it turns out, there is a connection between exercise and digestion. When you work out, your body increases blood flow and oxygen to your muscles, which can also stimulate your digestive system.
Gymbros and their poop frequency
While there is no scientific evidence specifically linking gymbros to increased pooping, it’s not uncommon for regular exercisers to have more regular bowel movements. So, if you find yourself spending a bit more time in the restroom after hitting the weights, you’re not alone!
Conclusion: #fitfam, let’s talk about poop

Lol yes… if you are eating the appropriate amount of food to gain a substantial amount of mass you will have a lot of waist to get rid of 😂
Man I’m pooping massive turds like 5 to 6 times a day
Not really. I have a ton of.protein farts when I’m bulking but my shits are pretty normal on a 3500 calorie / 200g protein diet. 1-2 decent sized shits a day, never clogged a toilet lol
Maybe its how much fiber u eating a day? Taking creatine? Drinking enough water?
as a woman who is on a caloric surplus the amounts of protein poops and fart make me rlly insecure. like i just be poopin and farting man
Yea. We be shittin love
Too much carbs
May be it’s a bad plumbing issue?
Depends on your diet. Coffee, large amounts of protein, lactose, etc. All will cause significantly more poop.
Lactose doesn’t sit well with everyone, but neither do vegan proteins. Whey isolate is a good option if that’s an issue you have.
Too much fiber will also do that to you.
Have you considered a poop knife?
The gym changing rooms are the most revolting smelling changing rooms in the world. Just an aroma of protein shits, farts and BO
Sounds like you need an American sized toilet or a poop knife.
You need to flush the toilet multiple time as you poop. Not just once you’re done.
How is it (current year) and people still propagate the “fast metabolism” myth, especially in the same body of text you admit you don’t eat enough. Sigh.
To answer your question: no, my toilet doesn’t clog. Yes, when I’m bulking I shit twice a day.
3-4 times daily for me. Except for today… which is weird. I haven’t pooped yet and it’s 5pm. No idea why I’m blocked up.
I never clogged mine, and I have had phases where I eat a ton. Are you getting enough fiber?
Get more fiber in your diet dude.
Welcome to the bulk
If you bulking but not shitting 2-3 times a day then you’re not bulking. If you really went to the gym for years already, you’re probably gonna make huge progress quickly now on a first proper bulk! You got it dude!
Holy fucking shit I’m dying. Reading about poo just never gets old.
Not a gym bro but I know a bit on gym bros and fitness. Yes, you’re gonna poop a lot of you eat a lot and work out.
It’s been a while, but I remember when I was living with an amateur body builder, it seemed like whatever was going in was also coming out, and a lot was going in.
The human body is very good at absorbing proteins and leaving very little behind for stool.
Most lean animal flesh has a minimal impact on my poop size. My stool size is directly correlated with the amount of plant material in my diet. This includes carrots, highly processed white bread, and everything in between.
If your protein supplements or new foods are causing you to have big BMs and a bunch of gas, this likely means you’re not fully digesting something and your gut bacteria are feasting on it. Some powders have a significant amount of extra ingredients. I only buy powders with at least 75% protein by weight. Grams of protein per serving divided by total grams in the serving size.
Write down the ingredients. Try a different powder. Use the process of elimination to find the trigger.
For me, it’s chicory root fiber and inulin. The gas is ridiculous. I specifically check my foods for these two and avoid them like the plague.
I workout 6 days a week, 6’2″ 225lbs with visible abs so I’m decently cut for my weight. I eat around 3800-4200 cal a day, and have been doing so for about 6 years now. I have to say the main thing I track is actually fiber. It makes everything go down the toilet better, I long ago swapped a majority of my carbs into dried and fresh fruit. Obviously don’t go overboard and have the runs but you can regulate that for yourself.
Yep that’s part of it
Yes
Sounds like you need to get yourself a poop knife
I’ve always been a big shitter with a big appetite, normally taking 3 a day, but oh god the gym turned me into a turd factory, I now take between 5-7 shits a day usually dumping the amount required to completely occlude the drain hole, not to mention the smell got worse.
I was losing so much time in the toilet plus lifting that it became impossible for me to keep it up.
