Even though they don’t notice you, a vast majority of people are capable of thinking though… just saying.
I get what you’re saying but have you honestly never talked shit about someone because of what they were wearing? Most people do do that. If you’re wearing your pokemon onesie then yeah people are probably noticing you
That’s true.
Just think about yourself’s perception of others.
You see a guy with a dirty shirt on the street. Do you think about him mor than ten minutes?
You see a girl with weird hair. Do you wonder about it for long?
Now thinking about it, i think about the elderly women calling me a cutie when i was seventeen more often than i think of the guy threatening to break my nose for no apparent reason (i can remember).
Okay well now I’m depressed!! 😂😂
Oh they notice, they definitely notice. Unfortunately. Which reminds me, I still have to eventually gather up the courage to finally go to a doctor.
Sad, yet so relieving
It’s freeing to remember others are in their own world too.
I think this is true to some extent- but sometimes people do notice you and it’s obvious. I don’t mean notice you in a positive way either.
We are often our own worst critics.
This is highly dependent on your geographical location. People will most definitely notice you more in a small rural town vs a big metropolitan city.
I wish more people would think me
Yeah, most people are too deep in their own nonsense. There is always one, but fuck em.
For the most part you right. I have to tell myself this a lot because I feel like I’m always being judged by people around me in public, especially restaurants. When I look around though, for the most part, nobody is paying me any mind!
I kinda like the idea that sometimes, people notice 😇
I wish that were true. It’s hard to blend in when you are the size of an NFL lineman.
Everyone is staring and plotting always (I’m schizophrenic)
As my chosen career as a ninja that means I was trained well.
A few years ago, I was teaching mostly private students and small groups. One day, after almost a year of weekly classes, I decided to shave off the mustache and goatee I started with. When nobody said anything, I started asking everyone if I looked different. Almost all of them either didn’t notice anything or guessed that I got a haircut.
I was told by a police officer that Ive never met before that Im “easy to pick out of a crowd”
I understand this but at the same time whenever I go into public I swear to god I see people staring at me all the time. Like almost every person I glance at they’re already looking at me. Very frequent
I accidentally flashed a bunch of people in a random place that I never planned on returning to. I told my mom, and she was freaking out asking why I’m not mortified.
I said, I’m never going to see this place or these people again in my life. I’m just some random girl with a clothing malfunction, and they’ll forget this entire event in like a week, maybe sooner and go about their lives. There’s so much comfort in that lol
Unless you stick out physically, yeah.
Can confirm. Walked around all week with my D out, and no one noticed or said a thing. I’m sure it is because people don’t care enough to notice and not because it’s an innie.
With the “of” omitted this is even more true
This is actually a really important insight. Not only to relieve self-consciousness, but also to gain perspective around our own general lack of importance in the universe. We are as ephemeral to the stranger we’re passing as they are to us. To them, they are the center of their own universe. We are but a blip that won’t be remembered.
My favorite shower thought. No one gives a flying fuck about me or my thoughts!
I love that. Now, how do I remember this when I’m out in public and getting that social anxiety and insecure body image and mental impaired intrusive head thoughts.
I do tend to just stick with being mentally with my fictional character so I’m not paying attention to others but my own world. But when I’m self aware. I’m thinking only about the negatives. Do I look normal/human enough when I’m walking.
How do I put my brain on the default of no one gives a flying fuck about me? XD
Depending on your situation, some people notice you, most people notice you, no one notices you, or everyone notices you.
Growing up and being comfortable in public is not caring anymore.
I’m a big fat guy. When I was a teenager I would avoid crowded places, and especially avoid eating in public for fear of other people’s thoughts and judgements.
As I got older I realized I really don’t care what strangers think of me. It’s very freeing.
Now, I will eat a rack of ribs, alone, in a busy restaurant, barbecue sauce all over my face. Shirt off at the waterpark with my kids. Sing karaoke sober. Fuck it. People are probably making fun of me. I’m probably making fun of them. Who cares? I’ll likely never see them again.
They are extras in the story of my life
Yeah no thanks. I’d rather pay attention to my appearance and look like I care.
