🏌️♂️⛳️ Have you ever thought about the saying, “Golf is the only sport where the worse you are the more you get to play”? It’s an interesting concept that many golfers can relate to. Let’s dive into some random thoughts that individuals often face when it comes to golf.
The Frustration of Inconsistency
Playing golf can be a rollercoaster of emotions. One day, you’re hitting every shot perfectly, and the next day, you can’t seem to make solid contact with the ball. It’s frustrating to feel like you’re making progress one day, only to take a step back the next.
Not All Par 3s Are Created Equal
It’s easy to underestimate the difficulty of a par 3 hole. Just because it’s shorter in distance doesn’t mean it’s easier to play. The placement of bunkers, water hazards, and tricky greens can turn a seemingly simple hole into a challenging obstacle.
The Mental Game
Golf is as much a mental game as it is physical. The pressure of making a crucial putt or hitting a precise approach shot can lead to overthinking and self-doubt. Learning to quiet your mind and trust your abilities is a skill that takes time to develop.
Lessons Learned from Golf
Despite the frustrations and challenges that come with playing golf, there are valuable lessons to be learned from the game. Patience, perseverance, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions are essential skills that can translate into other areas of life.
🏌️♂️⛳️ In conclusion, golf is a sport that can evoke a wide range of emotions and thoughts. From the frustration of inconsistency to the mental challenges of the game, golfers face a unique set of experiences every time they step onto the course. Despite the ups and downs, there’s something special about the game that keeps players coming back for more. Remember, it’s not always about how well you play, but the enjoyment and lessons you take away from each round. #GolfLife #LoveTheGame
Pool. I’ve had some games take awhile
Check out the bowling alley.
Applies to all racing sports
Check out a suburban kitchen…
But you will have someone standing over you mansplaining how to play golf (sometimes the mansplainer is a woman) after you start to play poorly.
The irritation of the mansplaining will make you play even worse, and you will desire to throw your clubs at someone.
A baseball game could last forever if you never get the other team out.
Add darts to the list too…
Fishing with catch limits
Baseball or cricket maybe – bad pitching – walking people all day…no defense etc.
It’s also the only sport the worst player can play with a pro golfer
Not completely true because, talking about professionals, whilst you might end up taking more shots and more time, if you miss the cut then you’d still end up not paying as much in terms of shots and time on course, compared to people who make the cut. But in terms of time/shots per round, yes, you’re right.
A lot of sports have losers’ brackets (Double Elimination) where the losers play more games than the winners and can actually then play and beat one of the winners.

My wife always wonders why I nap after 18, it’s because I have to swing that fucking club way more than I’m supposed to 😭
Baseball pitcher. The best pitcher only throws 27 times in a game.
Bowling. A perfect game only throws13 times, instead of 20 for the crappier bowlers.
Bowling. You throw much less if its all strikes.
Kinda like how Motorsport you spend lots of money to spend less time doing it.
Boxing, too much of it makes you a bit punchy.
I think bowling fits but I could be wrong.
Bowling. Every strike reduces your bowl for that turn in half.
You’ve obviously never seen the really bad marathon runners!
Quiddich games could go on awfully long if the seekers are bad enough
Similarly, croquet.
Actually, any sport that is untimed and only ends when a set goal has been reached can be lengthened indefinitely by terribleness. Competitive sports like tennis carry the added stipulation that both players must be equally terrible, otherwise the better player brings things to a swift end.
