Hubby’s ex got what she deserved
Hubby and I are both in our 50s, so this story goes way back to when we were in our 20s. Hubby’s ex-wife, let’s call her Jane, started dating him when they were 18, got married at 21, and unfortunately separated at 22 due to her infidelity. It was a tough time for hubby, but little did Jane know that karma would come back to bite her in a hilarious way.
##The Discovery
Hubby and I had been dating for a few years, and I was getting ready to move into my first apartment after graduating from college. I was worried about having to buy all new kitchen items when hubby mentioned that he had some boxes of stuff in his parents’ garage that we could go through.
##The Unwrapping
As we rummaged through the boxes, I found some useful items for my new apartment. But then, hubby started laughing uncontrollably as he unwrapped a box filled with carefully wrapped saucers. Confused, I asked him what was so funny, and he explained that Jane had left behind her china teacup collection without the corresponding saucers.
##The Revenge
Instead of getting angry or upset, hubby saw the humor in the situation. We decided to take the saucers to a secondhand store and get rid of them, but not before hubby had a good laugh about Jane’s oversight. It was the perfect revenge – making light of her mistake and moving on from the past.
##Lessons Learned
This story taught us both some valuable lessons about relationships and moving on from past hurts. Here are a few takeaways from our experience:
1. Karma has a funny way of coming back around – Jane’s mistake with the tea cups was a clear example of this.
2. It’s important to find humor in difficult situations – instead of holding onto resentment, we chose to laugh about the saucers and let go of the past.
3. Revenge doesn’t always have to be malicious – sometimes, the best revenge is simply moving on and finding happiness in new beginnings.
##In Conclusion
Hubby’s ex may have caused him pain in the past, but in the end, she got what she deserved with the saucer mishap. This funny and lighthearted story has stuck with us over the years as a reminder that sometimes, the best revenge is simply living well and finding joy in the little moments. So here’s to moving on, finding happiness, and laughing at life’s unexpected twists and turns. #HubbyExRevenge 😂💔

Sounds like a good petty revenge, even if it was unintentional 🙂 wonder if the store didn’t ask for the teacups to go with those 🙂
As a cat owner you can never have to many saucers.
What is the revenge part? She can’t get something back she has not missed for decades?
Wouldn’t it be funny if the ex found them at the store and brought them back?
Saucers without the teacup are useful so I’m sure they’ll get snapped up at the secondhand store. I like to put my ring in one when I wash dishes. They are the perfect size for dipping sauces. I even use them to portion out snacks so I don’t overeat. Mixing up cup and saucer patterns are cute too.
I was married and divorced very young. Had full china settings in a box in the basement so long I forgot about them. Fast forward 6 years and new bf and I are moving into our house. Our moms are unpacking in the kitchen and I notice my wedding China stacked in nicely in the cupboard. I asked where they found it and MIL says “it was labeled dishes so i put them here” I tell her the story and mention our regular dishes are around somewhere. Long story short, she never had wedding China so we decided she should have it. Now another 20 years down the road and every fancy meal at my inlaws in served on the wedding China of me and my ex. We have a great relationship and laugh everytime we use them. 🙂
Can’t read. Excessive use of “hubby” is making me nauseated.
