#CSstudent #SoftwareTester #CareerGrowth
Hey everyone! 🎉
I wanted to share some exciting news with you all – I recently got hired as a Junior Software Tester! 🚀
Here are some key points that I would like to share with you:
– Despite the challenging employment environment in the IT sector in Poland, I persevered and finally landed a job that aligns with my interests and aspirations.
– As a 25-year-old CS student, I have a passion for electronics, space, and computer science. This position will provide me with valuable experience and knowledge to pursue my goal of becoming an embedded developer in the future.
– Although I lacked commercial experience in IT, my background in electronics and self-taught programming skills for fun have prepared me for this new role.
– I’m excited to work with a helpful team that has a wealth of knowledge, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me in this field.
Remember, never give up on your dreams and keep pursuing what you’re passionate about! Wishing you all a successful weekend ahead! 🌟
Possible Solution: If you’re also looking to break into the IT sector without commercial experience, consider gaining relevant skills through self-study, online courses, or internships to make yourself more marketable to employers. Good luck!
Congratulations! I’m a CS major as well, currently trying to land an entry-level job in IT. I’m gonna keep going because of posts like this
Make the most of your opportunities in testing. Plenty of people look down on it (specifically devs and aspiring devs who don’t really know much about it). Still, there’s a huge amount of learning in it and opportunities to progress into other roles (e.g. I progressed from an automated tester to a hybrid DevOps job which pays great).
Once you are proficient at doing QA, do make plans to switch to Software Engineering. You can get pigeon holed very quickly. Also, learn Playwrite/Selenium/Cypress and other DOM parsers very well, like Jsoup and Pysoup. Good luck.
Source: I used to be a QA engineer, but have gotten. my CS degree and went into software engineering.
Congrats! I’m a business major working in taxation, who just got pulled to a 6 month stint of QA in our new tax software (millions of $$) and I’m learning the dev side on my own time. Opening the doors for the future!
Powodzenia! 🙂
