I can show you a real failure tbh, I don’t have any degree like you, I’m in tons of cc debt, been unemployed 4 years now living off the full support of my parents no driver license I literally do nothing but sit on my phone on average 10 or so hours a day or I’m playing video games
Bro you’re in sales assumedly making solid cash and you were a top performer for a while. You found you didn’t like some aspects and that’s that.
That’s a far cry from a failure dude.
Since you’re clearly good at sales in B2C, why not try B2B tech sales? I work adjacent to sales as an account manager and know that the culture is generally less toxic compared to B2C. It may also just be a company thing since I’ve met plenty of sales folks who enjoy the company of their co-workers. I think that there’s always going to be competition among sales folks, but that doesn’t mean people needa be a holes to each other. On a separate note, would you be open to sharing your post-grad story? For context, I write a newsletter called GradSimple where I share the journeys of people like you with college students and graduates who are looking for direction, advice, and inspiration. Your journey sounds unique going from a bachelor’s in communications, graduating in the pandemic, and going into sales. Let me know!
Hey, you enjoy creative writing, right?
You already understand sales, business, and psychology…
Why not become a freelance copywriter? You can leap ahead of 99% of beginners who don’t even have an interest in writing. Let alone business.
Just saying, you’re still young. Become a copywriter, travel the world, visit many monumental places—from Pyramid of Giza, Angkor Wat, to the Great Wall of China…
All while your lame coworkers try to cut each other down out of pure pettiness, instead you act on your passions, utilize your strengths, and live a fulfilling life.
If you like sales and can show your numbers just got to a competitor or look for another sales job in another field look for a department to transfer. You don’t have to leave right away but start sending your resume out.
