I remember during the Vancouver Olympics waiting for a friend in a huge crowd of people. Looked over and there was a guy standing next to me who was clearly a plain clothes officer. He just laughed when I asked “what agency?” And responded with “was it that obvious?”. Yes yes it was.
That’s highly unlikely because unless you work in some very important role that is related to Science, National Security or Military its very unlikely.

I worked in a small hotel in sweden and one day a guy came in with Mossad ID, not saying he was a spy but the way he explained the intelligence busniess was that spies arent like you see in the movies. They are diplomats, migranted citizens and administrative clerks. There is only a small portion of agents whose job is to sabotage or protect information

I regularly crossed paths with a spy without knowing it for about 15 years. Then my dad told me what he actually did for a living.
I’ve had a couple different guys tell me they were undercover cops after we chatted for a bit. They were probably just schizophrenic though. Who knows.
In my country we have secret police called the DIS, they are not supposed to tell anyone just blend in and figure shit out but here is the thing, they almost always brag about being a part of this unit because then people respect them and it always makes me laugh because clearly they are not very good at their jobs or they don’t understand the reason why it’s supposed to be a secret. So I have interacted with a spy and knew it.
Do we get to define what the spy is? Some National intelligence agency. Or like an under cover cop, private investigator. Or some weirdo stalker. Mental patient, airbnb host, trained spy pigeon??…

I’m like 70% sure my neighbors were either a spies or in witness protection. There’s no way the husband was “just a programmer”. Sure programmers can be awkward and antisocial but they were too calculated and professional for it to be natural.
