#ITCareer #Mentorship #Development
Hey everyone! 👋 I’m looking for some insight from those of you who are new to an IT career or currently training for your first role. What do you wish you knew when you were starting out? 🤔
Here are a few questions to get the conversation going:
– What are the major obstacles you feel to your success?
– What does your dream mentor look like and how could they help you?
I personally mentor a few people in my free time, and I’m always on the lookout for ways to improve and better assist them. So, any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! 🔍💡
One possible solution I’ve found helpful is setting clear goals and milestones for my mentees to work towards. This not only provides direction but also a sense of accomplishment as they progress in their IT careers. 🎯✨
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions! Let’s help each other grow and succeed in the tech industry. 🚀 #CommunitySupport
I’m not new, but having mentors that help answer questions without belittling you for your lack (you’re clearly new and don’t know), but not necessarily holding your hand.
Allowing you to make mistakes in an environment and then turning it into teaching moments.
Getting a good mix of technical hands in training/simulation and customer service skills.
