Just pick one that seems good. Don’t over complicate it.
No different from dating or getting married. Lots of options, lots of variables— go with what seems good at the time.
I’ve been a busser, cook, salesman, delivery driver, warehouse worker, tried getting into the Military, electrician, back to warehouse, and now I’m about to be getting my CDL while asking myself “is this really worth it”. I stopped stressing so much about it because I’m already at a point in my life where I believe that I just need a steady job to provide for my family and my own happiness/personal growth from it is not a concern.
I’m about to be 31 and I feel like I’ve wasted so much damn time hopping from one thing to the next. I learned a lot, met tons of interesting characters, but I didn’t get anywhere far professionally. My advice is whatever you find, stick with it and try to grow and move into a higher position.
You’re 24 – you’ve got so much time to try things out, change and pivot if you need to. Gone are the days when people stick to one career.
Don’t stress. No one ever finds a job they like 100% but you’ll know when you like one more than others. Follow your gut
Listen to that voice in your head and first feeling of excitement you got with a particular job or course. Then pick it, then go.
This might sound dumb, but someone recommended that I take a myers Briggs test. Then look up careers good for my specific mbti and picked the one that seemed the most interesting and attainable. Prior to doing that I was wildly overwhelmed by options
Pick one that you dont mind and that you kinda like. So one that those two qualites kinda meet each other in the middle.
I’m 34 and looking to make a career change. You just keep learning and discovering new things.
As. 26 year old just starting college again this summer, I just chose a career where I KNOW I’ll get a decent paying job asap after college. For me that was nursing, I have some credits toward that degree already and it’ll pay me well. I’ll also get to help some people
Ask people who have taken the course or doing the job, from 3-5 years to 15years+ about their experience of good and bad.
Your own liking about the subject/industry/job to assess whether you see yourself doing it for 20+ years along with Industry trend. It is not irrevocable choice, career paths can always change.
Also, don’t chase delusion of 100% certainty of a decision based on information. No amount informations and opinions here would give you 100% confidence. Not only for this question, any other significant decisions of life.
All the best!
I literally don’t know what I want to do when I grow up at age 45 🤣. It’s actually worked out pretty well up to this point.
It’s kind of odd society expects kids graduating to know exactly what they want to do for the rest of their lives at age 18.
The reality is most people don’t know. It’s all about trying to make the best decision at any given time and trying to grow. You can always changes. The skills you learn in one career do transfer to other careers. Marketing that can be challenging, but it can be done.
