Hey y’all, let’s talk about something that many of us may have struggled with at some point – how to live with not being able to pursue a dream. 🤔 Here’s a little story to kick off the conversation:
So, I always dreamed of becoming a doctor. It was my ultimate goal, my passion. But life had other plans for me. I had to start working as a healthcare professional to support myself and my family. I thought I would go back to school and fulfill my dream later on, but things didn’t quite work out as I had planned.
Now, I’m in my late 20s, my parents are getting older, and time is ticking. I can’t afford to spend another decade pursuing my dream while my loved ones need me now. It’s a tough pill to swallow, watching my peers succeed in their medical careers while I feel stuck and left behind. 😞
But hey, here’s a thought – maybe there’s a way to find fulfillment and purpose outside of my original dream. Maybe I can still make a difference in the healthcare field in other ways. Here are some possible solutions that I’m considering:
Spend quality time with my family and make lasting memories with them
Channel my passion for healthcare into volunteering or advocacy work
Consider alternative career paths within the healthcare industry that align with my values and goals
Remember, it’s never too late to find happiness and fulfillment in unexpected places. So, how do you cope with not being able to pursue your dream? Let’s share our stories and support each other through this journey. 💪 #NeverGiveUp
My mom didn’t graduate college and get her PhD until like 45. She now runs all the hospitals in the lower end of my state. So even if it takes longer than you expect, the rewards are still there
Have you considered being a NP? If you can get a job at a hospital with your LVN, most hospitals will pay for your BSN and then a NP.
All good. Life is many dreams. Not just one. Often constraints lead you to new choices that change your life. Take a risk and carpe diem.
