Hey there! Do you ever find yourself lost in the sea of uncertainty, wondering what you really want to do with your life? You’re definitely not alone. In fact, many people struggle with the same dilemma. Here are a few tips to help you navigate through this confusing journey:
-
Self-Reflection: Take some time to reflect on your passions, interests, and values. What truly excites you? What do you enjoy doing in your free time? This can give you a clue about what you might want to pursue as a career.
-
Exploration: Don’t be afraid to try new things and explore different career paths. You never know what might spark your interest until you give it a shot.
-
Seek Guidance: Talk to mentors, friends, or career counselors who can offer valuable insights and advice. Sometimes, an outside perspective can provide you with fresh ideas and perspectives.
- Research: Research different industries, job roles, and educational paths. The more information you gather, the better equipped you’ll be to make an informed decision about your future.
Remember, finding your life’s purpose is a journey, not a destination. It’s okay to feel lost and unsure at times, but with patience, self-discovery, and exploration, you’ll eventually find your path. Keep pushing forward! 🌟
I don’t really care what I do outside of being good at what I do, but I certainly didn’t want to go into the medical field because I’m not a fan of blood. I just chose a career that offered good compensation and lifestyle and spent time to get good at it. Thinking through stuff is good, but trying to think up a perfect life plan for yourself is kind of impossible. Perhaps get started with committing to something that you don’t immediately dislike before too much time is wasted. I can comfortably retire at around 40-50, and I have enough savings through being financially literate to try for a career change anytime. In my free time I hang out with friends in real life or online gaming, learn new languages, and make travel plans.
As an ageing burnout, I called my state’s Dept. of Vocational Rehabilitation. They hooked me up with a [Birkman evaluation](https://birkman.com/the-birkman-method) (designed by a Dr. / WW2 pilot to help vets w/ PTSD after the war) to find out what careers suit my personality, and are helping with school too. There’s also usually county level programs for 1yr trade/tech school, things like Job/Peace Corps for younger folks. In hindsight, maybe the Air Force would have been the move when I was younger lol.
Anyway, try flipping it around… What interests you? What jobs are related to that? Any of them sound fun or at least okay?
You should really consider joining a religious commune. They seem pretty chill. They take care of each other and family/friends is really important.
Their is a group of mennonites that bought 1500 acres not to far from me. They raise a lot of food and have a stand. They seem pretty peaceful and content.
Life is about building. Building yourself, building a career or some sort of something for income, relationships, and a life. The search for interests and desire, something to do to make money, hobbies and interests, and usually a partner.
Analysis paralysis is a thing. Overthinking is common, just try to curb it and go with the flow. If you continue to improve yourself, not getting dragged down by bad habits and people, and save a few bucks each time you get paid, you’ll be alright. Be nice to ppl, they’ll help guide you to the next place to, even that stranger on the bus can offer some kismet wisdom sometimes.
There’s no one answer either. Everybody is figuring it out as they go, some are better than others, and some get paid better for their time. But we’re all just getting thru the days as best we can.
