Hey everyone! 😊
So, I’ve been on this journey of self-employment for about two years now, juggling 10-15 clients at any given time. While it’s a roller coaster of stress, I absolutely love what I do. 🎢💼 But I’ve got a bit of a problem…
I live in a big city and honestly? I’m feeling pretty weighed down by my old friend. You know how it is—he’s living rent-free at his grandparents’ and spends his days just playing video games and chilling. Not really my vibe anymore! 😑
He keeps inviting me over for lazy afternoons by the pool, which is nice and all, but I’m in a different headspace. I’m looking for some **entrepreneur friends** who can uplift, motivate, and challenge me to grow. But where can I find them? 🤔
To keep it simple, here’s what I’m looking for:
- Places to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs
- Opportunities to network and collaborate
- In-person or online groups where I can share experiences and get motivated
Anyone have suggestions for **good websites** or platforms to discover local entrepreneur friends in my area? I’m all ears! 👂✨
Have you faced a similar situation? How did you find friends in the same entrepreneurial boat? Let’s share some tips! 💬
There’s entrepreneur local communities and startup founders communities. Search for startupgrind events near you. Or search for a closeby startup incubator to find events
I have been using YC cofounder matching just to make some friends haha. Doesn’t hurt to connect with as many founders in your area on LinkedIn then reach out after connecting
Check out Startup communities like Startup Grind. They have hubs in a lot of cities around the world
Meetup
Running clubs, non commercial gyms, serviceclubs, trendy coffee places, …
here for comments kind of in the same boat
Old fashioned word of mouth…..
People keep telling me to focus on LinkedIn, but I’ve noticed it has turned into a rat race for gaining as many followers as possible. My feed is flooded with content from creators who are just teaching how to grow your account on LinkedIn. Has anyone else faced this problem? I haven’t been able to find any real contacts to meet up with or build meaningful professional relationships.
Maybe check Facebook groups in your city?
Im an entrepreneur and always looking to partner with hungry individuals that are wanting to change their current circumstances. Must be willing to zoom call, shoot me a PM.
Onlyfans? Lots of entrepreneurs there.
Local networking groups or BMI
I’d suggest attending conferences when they come to your town. It’s a neutral space with people looking to educate and better themselves with the shared interest. Anyone who invests in themselves is more serious as well generally.
