Hey everyone! 👋 So, I recently started my job as a software engineer, and I’m loving it! However, I also want to dip my toes into the world of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. 🤖💡
I came across this dilemma: How can I learn and practice ML/AI without going back to school for a master’s degree? 🤔
Here are some recommendations I gathered from my own research:
– Online courses: Platforms like Coursera, Udemy, and edX offer fantastic ML/AI courses taught by experts in the field.
– Open-source projects: Contributing to projects on GitHub can help you gain practical experience and build a portfolio.
– Meetups and workshops: Attend local or virtual events to network with professionals and learn from their experiences.
– Kaggle competitions: Participating in data science competitions on Kaggle can sharpen your skills and connect you with a community of like-minded individuals.
I’m personally excited to start with an online course to give me a solid foundation. What do you all think? Any other suggestions or resources you’d recommend? Let’s learn and grow together! 🌟 #AlwaysLearning
1. Download OLLAMA framework ( free opensource ) [https://github.com/ollama/ollama?tab=readme-ov-file](https://github.com/ollama/ollama?tab=readme-ov-file)
2. Follow the instructions on the web page to interact with the GPT on your local computer
3. Install Python and use Langchain to interact with your local OLLAMA model from your own programs
What you will learn is better prompt engineering AND get some practical hands-on experience installing locally and interacting programmatically.
The scripts are SUPER EASY to write — and you can build from there.
Everything is free and there are many you-tube vids that take you step by step.
