Trading or HF isnβt something you just get magically lol. Prepare to do probably a 1-2 year rotation program at least if thatβs your plan and likely at a much smaller shop for lesser pay at a bank , couple years befor even sniffing a HF. IB has zero transferable skills to trading, I have no idea where you get this misconception as someone in the industry
That being said yea market kinda sucks now and banks arenβt what they used to be in terms of either security or bonuses. PE proabbly ur best bet and you having background in IB should make u a good candidate , albeit limited exp
IB won’t have any transferable skills to trading or trading at fund, so that is most likely an uphill battle.
Get the same job at another bank. It’ll be easier now that you have experience.
Go for equity research, might have some transferable skills. Find a sector or niche youβre interested in make some stock pitches and send them out to analysts.
