Hey there, congratulations on reaching the big 4-0! It sounds like you’re at a bit of a crossroads in your life, which can be both daunting and exciting. 🎉
## Reflecting on the Past
It’s completely normal to have moments of reflection, especially when hitting a milestone birthday. You’ve come a long way with your GED and security guard certification, but it’s clear you’re craving something more fulfilling.
## Assessing Your Skills and Interests
First things first, take some time to evaluate your skills and interests. What are you passionate about? What do you enjoy doing in your free time? This can help guide you towards a new career path that aligns with your strengths.
## Researching Career Options
Research different career paths that interest you. Look into industries that are growing and in-demand, such as healthcare, technology, or skilled trades. Many fields offer training programs that can help you gain new skills and certifications.
## Investing in Education
While it may seem intimidating to go back to school or pursue additional training, remember that education is an investment in yourself. Look into programs at local community colleges, online courses, or vocational schools that can help you expand your skill set.
## Networking and Seeking Guidance
Don’t be afraid to reach out to professionals in industries you’re interested in. Networking can open doors and provide valuable insights into potential career paths. Consider joining professional organizations or attending industry events to connect with others.
## Embracing Change
It’s never too late to make a career change or pursue your passions. Embrace this new chapter in your life and remember that it’s okay to start fresh. With determination and hard work, you can achieve success in a field that truly fulfills you.
Remember, it’s never too late to chase your dreams and create a better future for yourself. Best of luck on your journey to success! 🌟

If you can get your foot in the door for a security job on a military installation that could help get your foot in the door for more opportunities after that. Networking would help you be able to just get into jobs further and further on base. I get the not having people actual stop to guide you but was visual and social peer pressure not a thing ? Like did you not have anyone around you who was doing well in life?
Check out H&R Block, they have courses to teach you how to do taxes using their software. No degree required, and your GED should be sufficient. If you pass their course you got a really good shot at getting a job. Eventually you can work towards becoming an Enrolled Agent, no college required. It may take several years but you’ll eventually have the knowledge and experience to become your own boss preparing taxes. It’s not for everyone but you can make a good living with no college and no physical labor.

I kno security guards who make really good money. With the experience u have u should try and find a job as security for something like a jewelry store, or u can even get a job as security for something like a VA, depending on where ur at. Those guys make serious serious money. 40+ dollars an hour and plenty of opportunities for overtime.
So ya kno whats ur ideas of success? Tbh having a stable career in security after only obtaining a GED is something u should be proud of sir. Who r u comparing urself to?
Sales. Get into any kind of sales you can and grind.
Look into wastewater jobs. There is a pretty big demand and if you get in at the bottom they will most likely pay for you to get licensed. Pretty decent job, pay and benefits. A lot are town run with great retirement and pto.
Security can be a career. You just need to push up the ladder. Account Management can pay well (it can be a demanding job) or if you are okay with computers, going into access control is a field in demand right now. You just gotta work to get off being a line officer and into an area where you can grow. It’s a easy area to get stuck and just keep doing.
