Hey there! 👋 So, I have a computer science degree but I’m struggling with coding. It’s been a tough journey for me – never finishing a project, feeling lost in interviews, and not knowing what else I enjoy doing. But hey, you’re not alone in this! Here are some possible solutions that might help you navigate through this challenging phase:
– Try online coding courses or tutorials to brush up on your skills 🖥️
– Join coding communities or forums to seek advice and support from fellow coders 🌐
– Start small by working on mini projects or coding challenges to build confidence 💪
Remember, it’s okay to feel lost or overwhelmed at times. Just take it one step at a time and keep pushing forward. You got this! 💻✨
Have you ever felt stuck in your coding journey? Share your thoughts and experiences below! Let’s support each other in this learning process. 🌟
So you didn’t code at all during the degree or what?
Sorry but I don’t believe you. I think you just sit down and don’t want to start doing something. This is the case for everyone who says this
Sounds like you have adhd
I was in IT for over a decade with no degree or coding experience. There’s a lot of positions the CS degree could help you get into that don’t require coding. Project management, systems integration, network/active directory admin, tech support, tech sales… If you can throw a few lines of python and write SQL queries, data analysis, data admin, security…
I spend 30 minutes a day (Monday through friday) learning a IT skill that I want to master. That is all you have to do to learn to program.
You could get into the IT support side of things, or you could get into the project management side too.
Totally get it, pm me if you wanna chat.
Also, have you tried studying with people? Going to the library (find one that’s large, has good books, so you can walk around every 20mins or so when you get bored or need a break, as getting up from sitting is also good for your back). They activate discord -> Study Together channel, find a room that you enjoy.
Bring some drinks and snacks and try to get some goals done.
By immersion, doing this over and over you’ll find books that you like at the library, maybe some will have some projects for you to follow along, maybe you’ll be interested in AI and work on that, who the heck knows! And that’s awesome.
Just remember, a lil progress is better than no progress, if you do one problem in 8 hours of sitting, that’s awesome. As time passes, your concentration muscles will activate and propel you forward before you even realize.
I have so many other things I could recommend, but will let you figure those out. Best of luck!
