Hey everyone! ๐
So, hereโs where I find myself at 27โIโve spent the last decade in a whirlwind of education and jobs that just don’t resonate with me. ๐๐ผ After wrapping up my studies in economics and administration, I did an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk, and just recently, I graduated with a degree in business psychology. But honestly… it feels like I was just putting on a show to keep my parents happy and chase that so-called โsecureโ life. ๐ฉ
Iโve never felt that spark or interest in the business world. In fact, I really dislike a lot of it! It seems like Iโm playing a role that just doesnโt fit me at all. I have so many other passionsโlike technology, science, music, and sportsโthat Iโve neglected all this time. ๐ก๐ถโฝ๏ธ
Now Iโm stuck, juggling debt and a job that I genuinely hate. My career feels more like a heavy burden than a comforting security blanket. ๐ The past year has been especially tough, and I’m honestly overwhelmed. I find myself asking, โWhat am I doing with my life?โ Every move I make seems to pull me further away from what I find meaningful.
What I really crave is something that feels significantโsomething that connects with my values and interests. Money is nice, but it’s not the main driver for me. I want to contribute to society and find joy in what I do!
Anyone else feeling stuck in a career that doesnโt resonate with who you are? ๐ค If you’ve gone through something similar, Iโd love to hear your stories, tips, or any advice on how to make that leap towards a more fulfilling path. Let’s chat about how to turn our passions into real life pursuits!
If youโre really into tech, science, or music, maybe start small with side projects or freelance gigs in those areas. Sometimes, dipping your toes into what excites you can make a big difference. Itโs never too late to shift gears, and finding what youโre passionate about might help lift that weight off your shoulders.
Itโs never too late to pivot! Explore those interests in tech, music, or sports.ย
I am a self-taught front-end developer, so just do itโyou can learn it in your spare time. But there’s one thing I want to say: if you make your hobby your job, you might come to hate it one day
the grass is always greener.. anything you enjoy can become a drudge when u factor in monetary dependency, burnout, monotony, stress, organizational politics, etc.
of course sometimes the grass really is greener on the other side.
