Hey everyone! 👋 I wanted to share my experience from the first 3 months at my first IT job and let me tell you, it’s been a rollercoaster of learning and growth. Here’s a snapshot of what I’ve experienced:
– Started in March with minimal experience but lots of enthusiasm
– Handling a mix of helpdesk, printer tech, desktop support, and more
– Steep learning curve due to the variety of devices we support
– By the end of the first month, things started clicking and it’s been smooth sailing since
– Loving the opportunity to interact with people from all levels within the company and help them out
– Surprised at the areas of IT that I’ve found interesting thanks to the exposure in this role
– Pay isn’t great, but the experience and knowledge gained are worth it
I’m grateful for this opportunity and excited for what’s to come in my IT career. Have you experienced something similar in your first IT role? Any tips for those just starting out in the field? Let’s chat and share our insights! 🚀
Try to get all of the experience and also volunteer for things that might make you uncomfortable, it’s the best way to learn. Stay for a few years then bounce around when you find out what you like to do most. Your wage will stagnate if you stay too long.
