Hey everyone! I wanted to share an update on my job situation because itβs quite a rollercoaster, and β wow β the support I’ve received really means the world to me! ππ
So, get this: I got hired, and then three hours later, I was fired. Yes, you read that right! I still haven’t figured out how that even happened! π€― The βsupervisorβ who let me go sent me a message, and Iβm still mulling over how to respond.
After a ton of advice from many of you, Iβve decided to pursue unemployment benefits. Honestly, what do I have to lose at this point? If they deny my claim, thatβs fine. Iβll just move forward. Itβs funny, though, as soon as I filed, the company popped up on my employment history β I was chatting with my mom when it happened, and her reaction was priceless: βOh, they messed up!β (LMAO!)
Hereβs why this situation can be so tough:
- Emotional Rollercoaster: The thrill of getting a job followed by the shock of losing it makes it a heart-wrenching experience. π₯
- Financial Worries: I have bills to pay and kitties to feed π±, so the uncertainty is stressful.
- Time Investment: After a grueling month of relentless job searching and interviews, itβs disheartening to face yet another setback. π©
What am I doing now?
- I’m filing for unemployment to see if I can get some support while I continue my job hunt.
- Reaching out to my network more actively to seek leads and opportunities.
π Possible Solutions:
- Network with Others: Connect with folks in your industry to learn about openings or get referrals.
- Enhance Your Skills: Consider online courses to improve your marketability.
- Stay Positive: Keep a positive mindset; sometimes, better opportunities come after a setback.
Now, I want to hear from you! Have you ever faced a similar situation? How did you cope? Any tips and tricks you could share? Letβs chat and support one another! π
Unemployment is based on how long you worked there. You may be able to buy a Happy Meal if you get anything.
If you’ve got nothing to lose, I’d personally show up as if I never got the email just to make their skin crawl when they try to explain.
ALWAYS appeal the decision if unemployment denies you. Your final appeal has you with a Unemployment Judge. Ive won twice on final appeals to the Judge.
