Looking to streamline your email threads? Try this trick: BCC unnecessary recipients and let them know they’re being removed in your reply. This way, they won’t be included in the next response, avoiding confusion. #EmailThreads #EfficiencyHacks #BCC #CommunicationTips
If somebody bothered to add them to the conversation, then I would say it’s best to not remove them. Unless you’re absolutely certain how this will be received then there’s a good chance it will come off as passive aggressive and anti-team.
This can definitely be useful sometimes. Thanks!
“Moving you to Bcc to spare your inbox” is an easy sell to most people.
Terrible advice,if they were added to the original email don’t exclude them .
This is the way, everyone will thank you. And if for some reason the BCC person wants back in (they won’t) then they can always reply and get back into it!
Biggest LTP send emails to all on BCC so you get less reply all emails. Fucking boomers who have to let all of us know something is done or bitch about it.
– “Moving [larger team] to BCC.”
– “Reducing audience; [Manager] to BCC”
– “Adding [SME], others to BCC”
Usually in italics, at the top of the email.
You do need to be judicious, but sometimes you’ll get an email to a team of 500 and they need to know someone is responding, but not everyone needs to be involved in the details. Or you’ll need to have a more private conversation with your manager before you resume the conversation with the customer.
Some of y’all are just getting started in email office politics, clearly. Not everyone should get every email.
