Hey everyone! ๐ So, guess what? I passed my SHRM-CP test yesterday and I am beyond thrilled! ๐ Here are some key takeaways from my experience:
– I didn’t get as much study time in as I wanted (only 5-6 hours), but I made the most of it. ๐
– The test was tough and I struggled with the language used, even after 4+ years in HR. ๐คฏ
– The study book wasn’t as helpful as I had hoped, but the practice questions were a lifesaver. ๐ก
– I had moments of doubt during the test, but taking a short break helped me regain my confidence. ๐
– I finished the test with time to spare, which allowed me to review and make some changes. ๐
Overall, passing the test was a mix of relief and frustration. I’m proud of myself for passing, but I know there’s room for improvement. Have any of you experienced something similar? Any tips or advice for future test-takers? Let’s share our knowledge and help each other succeed! ๐ #HRcommunity #SharingIsCaring
First, congratulations on passing the exam! Although it was challenging, you still made it through which is what matters. Secondly, Iโve never worked in HR before however, Iโm interested in this field and would also like to take the SHRM-CP exam. My questions are, how long is the exam and what resources you would consider to be the best for studying? Again, congratulations on this great achievement!
Congrats, I’m sure it was a pain.
I don’t know about SHRM’s test but if it’s anything like the SPHR test then it’s a massive joke. The SPHR’s โcorrect answersโ are not in any way shape or form the proper way to handle a situation in real life. Throughout the whole test I would come up with 2 answers, one that I would actually do in the situation described in the question and another watered down generic answer that would have no practicality in the real world. Then I would answer with the generic answer. Absolute joke
But regardless, Congrats again, and fingers crossed you won’t ever have to sit through that nonsense again.
Congrats!! I had a similar experience. I passed this weekend too, and I was very surprised there was only 1 question with a reference to a law/regulations (think FMLA). However there were 2 questions referring to use of social media in your personal time. Plenty of references to globalization. Generally a lot of filler words, overly complicated phrasing to throw you off (double negation as well). The scenario questions were all very bulky, not necessarily difficult. I only used pocket prep, then did the SHRM training exams on their training platform, where I scored between 60-80% depending on the section.
