Even though I don’t have a career, I can say that getting medical or computing based certifications or even specialized driving certifications can make a difference in what work you can do and is less academic, depending on what kind of environment you want to work in and how good you are at social interaction then I have a few suggestions, it just depends what you are looking for in a job
Maybe getting a skill base apprenticeship is what you need. Plumber, electrician, mechanic. They are high pay and in high demand.
I am in IT, while it pays well, I think the industry is over saturated. You can see that people who is unemployed takes forever to land a job. Interview are multiple rounds that spread over a month and then another month or more to get an offer.
