## Understanding Your Bra Size
Before we dive into the nitty-gritty of putting on a bra, it’s crucial to ensure you’re wearing the right size. Here’s how to find the perfect fit:
1. Get measured professionally: Visit a lingerie store or bra specialist to get accurately measured for your bra size. This will help you understand your true size and shape.
2. Understand bra styles: Different bra styles cater to different breast shapes and provide varying levels of support. Knowing your breast shape and the types of bras that suit you can make a world of difference.
3. Try on different sizes: Don’t be afraid to try on different sizes to find the perfect fit. Remember that sizes can vary between brands, so it’s essential to experiment with different options.
## The Best Way to Put on a Bra
Now that you’ve got your perfect-fitting bra, it’s time to master the art of putting it on properly. Here are some tips for a seamless experience:
1. Start by slipping your arms through the bra straps and adjusting them so they rest comfortably on your shoulders.
2. Lean forward and use your hands to gently scoop each breast into the cup, ensuring that all breast tissue is properly contained.
3. Fasten the bra at the back using the hook-and-eye closure. For a new bra, start with the loosest hook to allow for adjustments as the bra stretches over time.
4. Adjust the straps as needed to ensure a snug and supportive fit.
## Bra Hacks for a Smooth Experience
To make putting on a bra even easier, consider these helpful hacks:
– Use a bra extender: If your bra feels too tight, a bra extender can provide extra breathing room without requiring you to buy a new bra.
– Front-closure bras: If you struggle with back clasps, consider investing in front-closure bras for a hassle-free experience.
– Racerback converters: Convert your regular bra into a racerback style for added versatility and comfort.
## Common Mistakes to Avoid
When it comes to putting on a bra, there are a few common mistakes that many women make. Avoid these pitfalls to ensure a comfortable and supportive fit:
– Fastening the bra on the tightest hook: This can cause the bra to stretch out more quickly, leading to a shorter lifespan.
– Not adjusting the straps: Properly adjusted straps are essential for providing the right level of support and ensuring a secure fit.
– Wearing the wrong size: A bra that doesn’t fit properly can lead to discomfort, back pain, and poor posture.
## Final Thoughts
Putting on a bra may seem like a simple task, but it can make a world of difference when done correctly. By understanding your bra size, mastering the best technique, and incorporating helpful hacks, you can ensure a smooth and comfortable bra-wearing experience every time.
So the next time you reach for your favorite bra, remember these tips and tricks to make the process a breeze. Your breasts will thank you for it!
Clasp in the back
I have cute little cupcakes boobs, so my bras just slip on, no clasp.
Put it around my waist, back to front, clasp it, and then twist it around to the back, stick my arms through, and pull up.
I clasp it in front upside down and then turn it into place and flip it up
Mystery third option – over my head, right arm, left arm, pull down over boobs. Sports bra 99.9% of the time.
When I actually wear one that has a clasp… clasp in the front and spin it around.
Just clasp in the back. I mostly wear sports bras and ones with no straps. Birth control made me go from a B to a DD and I’m in constant pain now lol.
Clasp in the back. I didn’t know women put them on backwards and would twist them around until I saw a highschool play make fun of it.
I only wear crop top type bras, so I pull them on over my head
Strap over the left shoulder and cup, then strap over the right and cup. Fasten in the back. Adjusts cups as necessary to ensure a comfortable fit.
Clasps then straps.
I used to do it in the front and twist it around, but once I found my correct size and one that fits amazing it was able to just clasp it in the back now
I do not wear bras anymore, only soft bralettes that are 5+ years old
Front and twist.
I feel so childish as a 30y old woman but I clasp the bra first then put it over my head and on my chestðŸ˜
Clasp it together off my body then squeeze into it
Begrudgingly
Maybe weird but it’s just straps on, pull down, then reach clasp in the back and fuddle for a random click. For new bras I clasp in the front
One leg at a time.
My mom always clasped it in the front and twisted so that’s how i thought everyone did it but i guess not after reading the comments
With difficulty, these days.
Over the head and through the arms, clasped. I don’t think I’ve intentionally used the clasps on my bra ever. Too much effort for boob holders
Put it around the waist, clasp it, then rotate the claps around to the back cups to the front, lift up one breast and position it in the cup, shoulder strap on, and repeat, then adjust my breasts in the bra, stuffing in any of my breasts tissue that isn’t in or isn’t positioned well.
I had a partner who put the shoulder straps on first, pulled the cups over her breasts, and did the clasp behind her back. I assumed that’s just how all women did it.
Straps, loosely.
Bend over to approaching 90 degrees, cups with a bit of a shake of the hands holding the bottom of the underwire to settle them in properly.
Straighten up while running hands along the band to keep proper tension in front.
Clasp.
Move straps to the right spot.
The only difficulty is if I’m wearing something fancy with more than 4 clasps. That’s just a struggle!
I’d guess the first half dozen times I put one on it was slightly awkward to clasp? Though I would have started with one with a single hook and eye. Two and three is just a small adjustment once you’re used to one.
I guess I’m the only one who wears sports bras as everyday bras
Boobs in first then clasp at the back, arms in last.
From the other comments maybe I’ve been doing this wrong for years!
So funny that you posted. I put my arms in and fasten it in the back. I assumed all grown women did the same. One day at work some gals got talking and I couldn’t believe how many women still do it like I did when I was young and first wearing a bra, clasping in front and turning. Seems like some wasted time and stretches out the bra
Do you women who clasp in the front and spin it around how do you get out of your bra? The reverse? I just pinch the clasp with my fingers and it pops off
I’m old. I do it one leg at a time.
Lean over, boobs in, stand up, clasp in back, sort the boobs so they lay right and comfy. Depending on the bra, the leaning over isn’t always needed.
And how I feel the clasps? It’s training. You doing it often enough, it goes automatically. You just know.
Mystery 3rd (or 6th?) option: clasp it behind my back and then put arms in
Arms through the straps, lean over to plop my boobs in the cups correctly, stand straight and clasp, adjust boobs and straps as needed.
I clasp it before I out it on and then put it on like a shirt lol
Depends, when I had a frozen shoulder? Clasp in front and spin. Now I’m back to normal put in bed forward, get girls in,.clasp at back.
Pretend like I’m wrestling Satan and then next thing I know, it’s on.
Magnetic front-clap closure is a game changer. I got one recently for the first time and love it. Just put arms through the straps like a vest and touch the magnets to each other in front. So much easier!
I don’t wear one, but I used to do the clasp up and then just put it on over my head kinda like a shirt lol
Do it up, then put it over my head. I’m old and can’t reach behind anymore.
As little as possible and only if it is socially appropriate.
Clasp first and then put it on like a t shirt. I’m only learning today that a lot of women clasp at the front and twist.
I close it and pull it down like a shirt
