Sometimes it’s all about confidence
She’s in healthcare. Healthcare hiring/retention is a mess right now.
You should ask her what she does on interviews, and how she applies for jobs.
Some people just interview very well. I worked with a woman like this once. She was very charming and disarming and almost everyone who interviewed her, wanted her. She was a senior worker too, in her 60s which makes it even more surprising how easily she found jobs.
It sounds like it’s the idiots interviewing and hiring her. Having 5 jobs in a few months is not a red flag? No degree but being offered to head up HR?
$20 an hour isn’t riches. She’s just extroverted which means she interviews well.
Extroverts typically interview well. Easy to hide a shit attitude
She’s chatty, personable and ultimately wins people over in the interview. That’s really all it is.
And $20 an hour isn’t good pay btw.
Healthcare yes, but there really are people out there who are incredibly emotionally intelligent and have strong social skills.
I knew this guy who was super charismatic but also very kind and likable AND a team player. He would get promoted like crazy.
He always got great jobs, even after layoffs.
All the people who complained, struggled socially, or didn’t know why people didn’t like them….did not unfortunately. 😅
Is she attractive?
She can talk her way in.
People misunderstand the impact of being able to talk to a person without fear.
“Comparison is the thief of joy”
Don’t concern yourself with what she’s doing, focus on you. Negative thoughts are distractions that keep you from your goal. You’re not here racing this person for success, you have no idea where either of you will be in 10 years.
So unless you’re interested in getting advice from her, just take her out of mind in regards to your success.
Is nobody considering that she might be lying?
She was let go, gave up easy money, didn’t want to work remotely? She also could be the kind that gets job offers when she puts her best face on but when companies see her real attitude, they let her go.
Must have a killer resume lol, and nails her interviews. Some people that make a great first impression are a red flag 🚩

It’s all about personality for interviews. I’ve gotten 8 job offers in healthcare as a Nurse Practitioner in the last 6 mo with no experience
Sometimes people have that aura about them. I have a cousin, never did well at college or at any job but can get a high paying good job by how he looks and how he can BS with anyone. People will overlook a lot for those they like. It is infuriating and he has yet to keep a job for 5 years but he keeps getting hired right off the bat.
Since I started treating interview questions like essays I’ve managed to get an offer from every single one. It all comes down to how you structure your responses.
Attractive and charismatic, always open doors
Some people just know how to bullshit.
So this is me. I’m just good during the interview. I know if I can get the interview I can probably get the job. I research the job/position and the company. Some small talk and relatability and you’re in 🤷🏻♀️ I’ve also worked in a bunch of different industries and tailor my resume for the specific job I’m applying for.
Do you want to be in the medical field? They’ll hire you too…

Charisma. Confidence. The term “con man” comes to mind.
She could be hot, very easy to land a job as long as you’re eye candy for upper management
She’s probably lying, or lies through the interview exceptionally well.
That seems to be what gets a person ahead now days which makes sense why so many things are diminishing in quality.
Fake it til you make it. She sounds like someone who knows how to chat and make small talk and all those soft skills. Alot of places value those skills over technical skills. It’s been explained to me that it’s better to have someone who can get along with the team who knows nothing than a skilled introvert. Most of the time it’s a shitshow because you end up with a talking head that has no freakin “useful” skills.
People like her.
That’s the key.
The key word here is extrovert. She is dynamic, engaging, she has no issues with walking up to a stranger and talk to them. She probably genuinely wants to know about their life. By doing that, she is at the top of people’s mind. When there is a job opening, she is the first person that comes to mind.
It might also have to do with the industry that normalizes job hopping. Definitely, ask for this one…I think job hopping is a red flag regardless, so I am really curious on how she “swindles” the hiring manager.
a great number of companies love extroverts, but don’t realize extroversion doesn’t equate to professionalism.
