#TylerDurden #FightClub #RealLifeTerror #DamagePotential
đź’Ą Hey there! If someone like Tyler Durden from Fight Club existed in today’s world and attempted to carry out his radical actions, the potential damage could be catastrophic. Let’s dive into the possible repercussions of such an individual let loose in our society.
Psychological Manipulation and Chaos
🤯 One of the key traits of Tyler Durden was his ability to psychologically manipulate others into joining his destructive schemes. This kind of charismatic leadership could easily sway vulnerable individuals towards violence and chaos.
Physical Destruction and Violence
đź’Ł Tyler Durden’s willingness to engage in violent acts, as seen in Fight Club, could lead to widespread physical destruction in real life. From vandalism to more extreme acts of terrorism, the damage could be immense.
Financial Impact
đź’¸ The financial repercussions of Tyler Durden-like behaviors could be significant. From the costs of repairing property damage to potential lawsuits and insurance claims, the economic toll could be substantial.
Societal Fallout
🌎 Beyond the immediate damage, the societal fallout of someone like Tyler Durden acting out could be profound. Trust in institutions and social cohesion could be severely undermined, leading to long-lasting consequences.
Real-Life Examples
1. The 1995 Oklahoma City bombing, orchestrated by Timothy McVeigh, resulted in 168 deaths and extensive damage to the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.
2. The 2011 Norway attacks carried out by Anders Behring Breivik resulted in 77 fatalities and widespread shock and trauma in the country.
In conclusion, if a character like Tyler Durden were to emerge today and carry out similar actions, the potential damage could be far-reaching and devastating. It serves as a stark reminder of the power of individuals to wreak havoc in our interconnected world. Let’s strive for peace, empathy, and understanding to prevent such scenarios from becoming a reality. #StaySafe #ChooseLove đź’™
Like if we re talking right now, from what I can see people are pretty tired and fed up with their lifes, so if someone like tyler would have given them a purpose, it will be an easy game
i dont know if you could brainwash that many american
men into organizing tight knit underground fighting clubs, focused and effective terror attacks, long term planning and franchising the movement all accross the country.
None probably. Your data isn’t stored in just one place and is likely backed up anyway. There’s no one building where everything is stored.Â
Depends on who has jurisdiction honestly, DHS raids his home as soon as he starts to gather up a suspicious amount of soap.
The modern FBI would probably give and build the bombs for him.
> if someone like tyler durden
> existed
Um
Zero.
CIA/FBI/NSA/Interpol would have picked him up and stuck him in a dark corner of the world before he could do anything beyond starting underground boxing clubs.
Domestic and international security really ramped up post 9/11.
Damage is relative. Blowing up buildings to clear credit, no. Data is in the cloud and redundant on multiple servers at multiple undisclosed locations. Damage through boycotts does have impact, but usually not devastatingly so. As a terror group, and the lasting effects of certain attacks, yes.
I don’t want to get too political, but if you think of a Tyler Durden type like a demagogue that can rally people around them, they can do immense damage. To democracy, to civility, to social norms, to governance, race relations, etc.
Let’s find out
As portrayed in flight club, no significant data would be lost.
The tv series Mr. Robot attempted to tackle the same task through coordinated physical and cyber attacks with near perfect timing. They at least portrayed the difficulty of pulling it off.
It might be possible to start the fight club culture and even a nationally organized gang but the data systems are too resilient and distributed to attack via conventional means.
He could be the next trump, but without beimg a moron. Imagine that. A trump that wasn’t completely incompetent and had some brain cells. He could do anything.
Given the amount of damage groups like proud boys cause… no. They’re ultimately small dogs barking loudly, and we’ve seen groups like that with semi-competent leadership. It also doesn’t help that modern data security practices kind of invalidate the tactics shown in the movie.
But also Fight Club doesn’t really assume any realism since the formation of the titular club relies on people >!forming a movement around a guy beating himself up in a parking lot. Like, seriously, given the nature of Durden as a character, what the hell were those guys watching that they agreed to join anything he was running?!<
He blew up a bunch of finance buildings and so theoretically destroyed a whole lot of physical records. Between work from home and cloud services and online storage he might have had to pick way different targets. The big caveat being that if you owe a debt and go to court the lender should be able to produce the physical copy of your contract, but not a lawyer so no idea if that’s true anymore
None. Thanks to the internet/social media, most of the Project Mayhem members would’ve blabbed and they’d be shut down WAY before they could initiate any planned attacks.
If he took out data centers the same way (it would be easier)he’d get a similar result
In the octagon – As much as a ring girl.
Out of the octagon – Another government bailout.
No he isn’t the hero, he’s the hallucination of the mentally ill narrator.
And destroying things doesn’t reset anything. It creates a new destroyed thing. Shit rolls downhill and the little guy always ends up paying.
Most people are too apathetic to even boycot slave made products. Most people dont care about poverty or climate issues.
Would people support a low live szhitzo who runs and underground fight gym and rise up and overthrow the system? Doubt.
zero. tyler durdin didn’t even exist in the movie that he’s in.
spoiler alert i guess.
You mean start a proudboys chapter?
However far charles manson got?
He didn’t exist in fight club.
See baltimore bridge mess
Tyler Durden wasn’t a hero. He was what happens when a mentally ill man goes full psychotic. No way he would succeed in the real world though. Bombing all the major banks in one city wouldn’t delete debt anyway. Even in the late 90s early 2k
Anywhere from none to some. “Could” allows a lot of interpretation.
I think one of the points was the Tyler and his space monkeys were fairly dumb, so they’d probably get caught fairly early, and not manage to do much harm.
Remember, the ultimate message of fight club, aside from “consumerism bad”, is “Don’t be like these idiots”.
Maybe he does exist
