CareerAdvice #Passion #CareerPath
Hey everyone! 👋 Have you ever felt lost when it comes to choosing a career path because you don’t have a passion for any particular job? 🤔 Well, you’re not alone! It can be tough trying to figure out what to do when you don’t feel a strong pull towards any specific field.
I recently went through a similar dilemma myself. Here are a few tips that might help you navigate this confusing time:
-
Explore diverse options: Don’t limit yourself to traditional career paths. Research different industries and roles to see if anything piques your interest.
-
Consider your strengths: Think about what you’re good at and what comes naturally to you. Your skills and talents could lead you to a career you never thought of before.
-
Talk to professionals: Reach out to people working in fields that interest you. Ask them about their experiences and get insights into what their day-to-day work is like.
- Try out internships or job shadowing: Hands-on experience can give you a better idea of what a certain job involves. It could help you determine if it’s something you could see yourself doing long-term.
Remember, it’s okay if you don’t have everything figured out right now. Take your time to explore different options and find what feels right for you. Your career path might not be a straight line, and that’s perfectly okay! 🌟

“I just want to waste away my life without putting any actual efforts but I do expect to get paid”
Go work for a temp agency for a bit until you figure out your thoughts and try out different jobs.
Are you hot? If so, you could try being sugarbaby/boy toy.
What was it about that work environment that you didn’t like? What was it about nursing that you were so sure you would like?
What about photography or videography? That’s what I do. I don’t create many personal projects anymore but when I need creative control I can. Otherwise I’m still getting to do photos and videos for a company even if I don’t always love the content.
If you were close to a nursing degree you should seriously consider art therapy. I have a friend who did this backwards, got the art degree first and couldnt make money and pivoted to the medical field that way.
You don’t have to have a career; just get a job
I’m here with the same problem. Mid life crisis after burning out of several careers and can’t tell if all the jobs suck, or I do.
If you know at an early age that you’d rather get in, get it over with, and get out, angle for the highest paying thing you can stomach. Focus on saving for early retirement (you’ll need 25x your annual expenses saved up and invested). Also focus on rate of return for education. Doctors and lawyers can make a ton of money eventually, but if you aren’t planning to be in the career long enough to get that money, don’t go into stupid amounts of debt to pursue it. I know the tech job market is rough right now, but it’s cyclical and I’m confident it’ll come back around. Software dev is the lowest cost of entry to high pay that I can think of off the top of my head.
Lol..
First of all find a decent job you can tolerate.
As far as career goes. You need to figure out what you want your life to be like and what kind of money you’re trying to make/what goals you have. From there you’re probably going to have to make some concessions.
It’s hard to find a “career” that matches all your desires. But especially if those desires are work less, make more. I have no judgment on it but it just makes things that much harder.
I had to get a new career and it’s taken me 4 years to decide what. I have some what of a plan now. I had to drill down on what I wanted and start really exploring what options were realistic for me.
I can’t afford to go back to college and I want to make at least what I and win my first career which is quite a bit. I also want to use the skills I already have as they relate to my passions. I have experience in business and marketing as far as which specific skills. I’ve slowly built a side hustle that’s close to passive income. And my career choice is to get my real estate license, be an agent, do some other things with it, and hopefully make enough money to get a nice property within the next 5yrs and begin building my retirement plan.
My first business, my passion, had to close after covid. My “retirement plan” is basically to pick up where I left off by 35 or 40. I was on the verge of hitting cruise control when Covid hit. In theory I’ll have all the tools to do it over but better.
My point is, think it through. The only way you’ll make something happen is to visualize it and get to it. So look at your goals and work backward from there. And do a lot of research on different career options.
The classic answer is find out what you’re good at and do that. People tend to end up liking what they’re good at. Also, most people don’t actually want to work 5 days a week so don’t believe the movies and chase unrealistic expectations of job satisfaction. When you grow up you need to pay rent/mortgage. That above all else is why companies have workers .
