A substantial pay rise.
EDIT: Why have I been downvoted for this?
Depends on how I would be earning it
Surely a better life, here people are paid way less than that.
A 25% pay rise
Way better life. I wouldn’t have to worry if I can afford food after paying the rent.
That would be so much better than my current pay
That’s life changing money (for me).
A pay cut. But!! If I could live in a cheaper place then it may net the other way
I would be making over 3 times what I make now.
I would be able to live in my own space without dealing with anyone else. Just me and my dog 🙂 my mental health would improve drastically. I would be able to treat myself to more goodies rather than the bare minimum. And I would probably gain weight from having a kitchen and space to cook. I’d be way happier
Is it higher or lower than a median wage in the US?
Pay reduction and inability to cover monthly basic expenses
Meh it would be more, but not life changing. I might be able to buy a used automobile and rent a cheap 1 bedroom. I’d have a bit more breathing room but I would not be able to purchase any property, raise a family or even retire on that amount. Screw Canada.
I make just under that and ya’boy still struggles
A pay cut
means…a life of luxury here.
i would be thrown in jail for not being able to pay childsupport
In my area, that would make me extremely rich and easily able to afford a home and purchase vehicles in full, granted I don’t decide to have kids lol
Would live in a basic home with little to no savings
A pay cut
A very minor pay rise – I’ll take it tho
It’s about what I earn now, and I’m broke and racking up debt. California Bay Area.
I’d be three times as rich
Desperation. Foreclosure, financial ruin.
That’s double what I currently make lol. It’s kinda wild how many people are saying pay cut
I make that in the US. Up until 2019/2020 it was considered a great wage especially in the area I live. My job was also considered a good job. Since then with inflation out of control and the housing market in the shitter, it’s almost barely enough to support a family and have any sort of life other than work and sleep. I know I’m fortunate compared to some but man I’ve worked so hard for 20 years to get to where I am and it feels like they keep moving the goal post.
Double my wages. I could buy a house, get a new(er) car, take holidays, get takeouts, catch up with pension payments.
It would be life changing.
A significant pay cut and a struggle to stay in my house
I used to think that making $70,000 a year meant I had ARRIVED. Got my big boy job with my big boy pants.
I’ll tell you what guys, with a wife, three kids, and a pretty typical life, that $70k doesn’t go very far anymore.
I absolutely know to many people it’s a godsend, and it is absolutely something I am thankful for every day, but believe it or not, sometimes things can feel pretty thin.
In today’s exchange rate that is 345K brazilian reais. Divided by 12, it’s 28K monthly. I live with roughly 10K monthly and I live a very comfortable life. Earning almost 3x that and I’ll feel like a king.
Holy moly you rich motherfuckers.
Wow these responses make me sad. I see ppl saying they make this or it would be a paycut. This a short term goal of mine 🙁 to land a job paying this much
I would go from barely surviving to being able to afford to put some money into savings.
That’s life-changing money for me.
Less hookers and cocaine
A pay raise!! That would be lovely!
Almost double my income.
Life changing
It would be world changing.
I might be able to spend more time with my daughter, pay back loans for college, pay off 1 car and fix my partners car.
Financial security.
A significant pay cut
you just more than doubled my salary lol
I earn that. I am still poor.
I make this much in the US. Can’t afford a house. Barely pay my bills and support my family. Rent is tough.
I earn more then that, in California doesn’t mean a lot
A pay cut 🤣
A major pay cut.
I make this now and my wife makes about the same. Despite this, cost of living in our area still keeps us out of homeownership.
Thus, $70k/yr each just means that we can afford overpriced rent and groceries from Aldi.
My wife and I pull in 70k collectively, and it feels no different than when we made 40k.
