#ScamAlert #JobOffer #AdministrativeAssistant #RelocationToUK
Are you a job seeker who has recently received a lucrative job offer for an Administrative Assistant position with a salary of £4,537 per month and relocation to the UK? 🤨 You might be feeling excited and grateful for this opportunity, but at the back of your mind, there are doubts and suspicions creeping in. 🧐
Identifying the Red Flags
As a 25-year-old female from the Philippines, you have already encountered a potential scam through LinkedIn, which makes you extra cautious. The current job offer you received seems too good to be true – from the high salary to the unusual email address and the repetitive mention of immigration fees. 🚩
The fact that you didn’t go through a traditional interview process and the excessive focus on immigration-related payments raises some serious concerns. Is this a legitimate opportunity or a cleverly disguised scam? The salary offered is way above the average for an entry-level Administrative Assistant in the UK, raising further suspicions. 💸
Practical Solutions
1. **Research the Company**: Take the time to research the company that has made you the job offer. Check for any online reviews, company websites, or social media presence to verify their authenticity.
2. **Consult with Professionals**: Reach out to recruitment agencies or legal professionals who can provide guidance on the legitimacy of the job offer and help you navigate through the process.
3. **Request for Clarifications**: If certain aspects of the job offer seem unclear or suspicious, don’t hesitate to ask for further clarification from the company’s HR department. A genuine employer will be transparent in their communication.
4. **Verify Immigration Procedures**: Contact the UK Visas and Immigration directly to confirm the authenticity of the visa application process and any associated fees. Avoid sharing personal information or making payments without verification.
Your Peace of Mind Matters
It’s essential to prioritize your safety and well-being during the job search process. Trust your instincts and don’t ignore any warning signs that raise doubts about the legitimacy of the job offer. Remember that your security and financial stability are paramount, and it’s okay to seek professional advice before making any decisions. Stay vigilant and informed to avoid falling victim to potential scams.
In conclusion, take the necessary steps to verify the legitimacy of the job offer and protect yourself from potential scams. Your peace of mind and financial security are non-negotiable, so proceed with caution and don’t hesitate to seek guidance if needed. Trust your instincts, stay informed, and make informed decisions that align with your best interests. Good luck! 💪🌟
Yes it’s a scam. No one’s going to hire a person without talking on the phone or video call first. Especially not someone in another country who’d need a work visa. Plus that’s way more money than admin assistants make in the UK.
£55k a year is a senior experienced role in UK. No way an assistant can earn that much.
Sounds like a scam to me.
Are they on the list of registered sponsers for getting employee work permits? https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/register-of-licensed-sponsors-workers
Can you contact them to verify any details through a phone or email address you can fund publicly available in their website?
If the answer to wither of these is “No” then it’s a scam.
Yeah it’s a scam.
> it’s kinda weird because the “immigration healthcare surcharge (IHS) amounting to £400
Pounds which must be paid by Employee in addition to a visa application fee before approval of Employee VISA.”
This is the scam – you pay £400, and then they either disappear or say you need to pay a further charge to start. They keep taking your money until you stop.
I’d block them and keep applying for jobs elsewhere.
Yes, it is a scam
Always remember if you are ever applying for a job somewhere. Check the email from which you are getting the replies. Usually responses from gmail, yahoo, hotmail are scams.
Yeps.
Scam.
100%, absolutely positively confirmed scam of the scammiest variation.
Everyone can buy a .com domain like consultant.com so this does not make the offer more serious or the email a corporate email. Consultant.com is owned by a company in the US and the webpage is a generic landing page with shopping links, neither would be the case if this was an official UK government address. if in doubt always call the relevant authorities and ask what email they use.
They are going to steal all your personal information when you submit the immigration and sponsorship paperwork to the ukvisa.immigration@consultant.com. This is not a real address. Plus no one hires without an interview.
Yeah definitely a scam, the amount of they said they are going to to give is unreal dear, as an account manager (way higher than an assistant ) my friend in Manchester gets 3800£ also she had a relocation package that was paid entirely by her employer and also the paperwork was done by a professional that never asked her for money also the person guided her only . Also you can’t just accept a position without prior information or interview or a formal contract as this either means fraud or scam or ilegal exploitation at best.
Pay it and see what happens 😆
