Hey everyone, I need your input on something! 🤔 I applied for an unpaid PE internship and they want me to complete a lengthy screening process before even considering me for an interview. Is this worth it or is it possibly a scam? The company, Visdomur, has a portfolio of daycares, but I’m not sure if I’ll actually gain any valuable experience from this internship.
Here are the questions they provided me with. It just seems a bit sketchy to me. Have any of you had similar experiences? Do you think this is a legitimate opportunity or are they just looking to gather information without providing any real experience in return?
Possible solution:
– Research the company, Visdomur, and their reputation in the industry
– Reach out to current or former interns if possible to get their feedback
– Consider asking for more information about the specific tasks and learning opportunities during the internship
Let’s discuss and help each other navigate through these types of situations! 🌟 #InternshipAdvice #CareerDevelopment #Networking
This seems scummy as hell. And what kind of shit company still had unpaid interns? Fuck that.
No offence, but any firm that has their shit together wouldn’t be asking a non-paid intern to source deals. Furthermore, how are you supposed to know if it’s compatible with their CRM system? This looks like the blind leading the blind.
I would squint really hard at any unpaid internship, especially one that’s asking for many hours of work up front. Smells like they’ll take your report, enjoy your free labor, and ghost you.
I had applied to this exact “internship” position last year. They’re just looking for free sourcing. I would suggest moving on.
lol I may actually know this firm based on your post, feel free to PM me the name if it’s the one I know I can give you the lowdown
Try to find a search fund that looks like it will teach you and allow you to work on strategy a bit and not just free sourcing labor (that will be a lot of the work tho)
I have one rn and it’s a niche roll up strategy targeting 1M-20M businesses and our team is lean, 4 undergrad interns, 2 MBA interns, 2 principals. We have twice daily meetings and have a weekly development day where they go over PE stuff. Really glad I ended up here as I get some strategy insight and they don’t really have call quotas anymore as we go with our deals down the pipeline.
Hahahahah no
This is Visdomur. Don’t.
No, the guy doesn’t have any banking or high finance experience. I have a unpaid pe, my assosciates are t-10 mba students and bosses were all previous BB bankers. So they have connections and deal flow. A lot of the deal are also MM deals, that don’t require that type of boring free labor.
Visdomur is run by a bum. That tells you everything you need to know.
