Hey everyone, I could really use some advice on a tricky situation I’ve found myself in with an AirBNB host involving their aggressive dog neighbor. Here’s the rundown:
– Sent multiple questions to host about safety of yard for my search and rescue dogs 🐾
– Neighbor’s aggressive dog keeps breaching the fence, causing anxiety for my dogs and me 🐕
– Host has been bombarding me with messages, threatening legal action, and asking for video evidence 📱💬
– AIRBNB canceled my reservation early, but host is blaming me for loss of income and threatening a lawsuit 💸
I’m feeling stuck and stressed about potential legal implications. Here are some questions I have:
– Can the host force me to testify or publish my name publicly? 🤔
– How can I protect myself legally in this situation? 🔒
– Can AIRBNB help me navigate this complex issue and get the host off my back? 🛂
Any advice or insights you can provide would be incredibly helpful. Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation before? Thank you in advance for any guidance you can offer! 🙏🏼✨
I would block both their numbers and stop communicating with them entirely. It’s very unlikely that he’s going to pursue anything against you, and even if he does, litigation moves at a snail’s pace— he’s not going to get a quick fix for any of this going that route, and you’ll more likely than not be out of the state before things actually get moving.
If you actually get served, get in contact with an attorney. Until then, though, I’d block and move on.
You work for homeland security and have working dogs but had to pay to board them? That sounds odd. Everyone I have known who has had working dogs has had to have their properties inspected to make sure that their dog’s environment is acceptable. Those dogs are government property and a massive liability. It sounds very weird to me that you were able to bring dogs belonging to homeland security to an Airbnb in the first place without additional inspections and I find it even more weird that your employer is not helping you out here given that your situation is directly related to government property.
