Hey everyone! 🌟 I need some advice on the offer I just received for an assistant HR generalist position. Here are some details:
– Pay: $24/hr (looking to negotiate)
– Commute: 1-hour drive
– Work Schedule: 9/80 (every other Friday off)
– PTO: 3 weeks + 40 hrs sick leave
– Benefits: Standard package
Should I hold out for something closer to home or go for it? Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! 🤔💼
Possible solution:
1. Research the average salary for assistant HR generalist positions in your area to negotiate effectively.
2. Consider the long-term growth opportunities and benefits the company offers.
3. Calculate the cost and time of the commute to see if it aligns with your lifestyle and priorities.
Good luck! 🍀
You should take the job, and keep looking for something else if you aren’t happy. The commute doesn’t factor in anywhere. But holding out for another offer could mean months of unemployment. This is a solid first job though.
Unless you worked at your internships full time for 3 years, you don’t have 3 years of experience.
